RCA F25441 25" TV Questions & Answers
Stays on VID or channel 4
Just try to make a hard reset to this set first. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back into, after 30 minutes or so. If the problem persists, the main system memory IC to your TV is faulty, and should be replaced.
RCA 25" tube type. sparke
There are dangerous voltages involved here, and the best thing I can suggest is unplugging the set forever, as repairs can be made, but at a cost that may discourage your further use of the set.
I answered this to warn you not to attempt repairs yourself, as the capacitance (retained electrical charge in voltages in the thousands) retained on the chassis is enough to terminate any lifeform.
Please unplug the set.
Picture Problem
This is a problem (one of several) caused by poor solder connections on the circuit board. RCA uses the metal shield can surrounding the tuner circuitry (the area where the cable connector is located) to provide several ground connections. Many of these connections go bad (cracks form) and the missing ground connections cause the "picture shrinking" you see. Other problems are loss of tuning, set that intermittently turns off or on by itself, set that won't turn on at all, and even more.
The repair involves removing the circuit board and flipping it over so you can remove a metal cover on the bottom, repairing the several (many) affected connections, and then reassembling. This is a relatively easy repair for someone with soldering experience and the right tools (both a high-heat soldering gun and a low-heat iron are needed). But because of the fragile circuit traces in the repair area it is possible to do more harm than good if you don't know what you're doing.
RCA produced a service bulletin several years back detailing the areas to be repaired (although they still refused to admit they just hadn't soldered the places adequately to begin with). I'm not home now so I can't check my files but I'll see if I can find a link and add a comment later. When I was in the service business we charged around $60 for the repair. You might want to get an estimate from a shop (they should already be familiar with this trouble). Or if you're looking for a reason to buy a new set, try the repair yourself. If you're successful you've saved yourself the money. If not, it wasn't working anyway!
Tv makes whistling sound from rear and sparks when pluged in
By the sound of it your set might have a high voltage leak on the high voltage transformer ,the crt has a broken neck or shorted filaments, all 3 possibilities should be handle with care because of the high voltage involved,if you are familiar with tv service you can remove the back and take a look at the neck of the tube to see if it arks, remove the back cover from far away (12 feet)and then plug it in,if the tube is bad you will be able to see it but if the leak is in the transformer you might not see anything while is making the noise. If you are not too familiar be safe and call or take the set for an estimate. If the tube is bad you will need to buy a new tv.

Digtal
All sets are Digtal Ready they are telling you that if the only way you receive a signal is by antenna then tv will not work without a converter box, as long as you receive cable or satellite then your good to go!
Black and white screen only on DSTV?
RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.)
I hope this helps.

(One of my family's TVs used a dongle to condense the analog video signal to a single port, swapping blue and green gave a black and white output, IIRC.)
I have an RCA re20qp80 remote that the mute button doesn't work
Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.

I Want code list for RCA 4- device universal remote
You need the TV codes not the remote ones. I would use the Remotes code search feature as the Sanyo has allot of codes and you may spend hours going through them.
Sanyo remote codes 0154 0208 0157 0280 0484 0292 0721 0011 0036 0045 0370 0068 0339 0072 0216 0104 0217 0145 0146 0156 0555 0381 0412 0009 0508 0544 0163 0799 0037 1154 0108 0159 0556 0486
