Hi. Look for cold solderjoints on the vertical output section. Most likely, the vertical final IC has bad solderings. Using a magnifier, one can see "craters" around the soldering pin/pad. Or just simply re-do all of them. Good luck;

TV has to have an ATSC tuner. Should find it in onscreen menu. Otherwise, you will need a converter box. About $50 at big box stores.

Digital. I've had the same problem ever since everything went do digital.

From the main menu choose "Parental Controls;" it's option six.

Choose the first option, V-Chip TV Rating Limit, and using the arrow keys and the OK button on the remote, scroll through until the TV-MA rating appears. Press the right arrow button to move the highlight over to the "Status" field and toggle to "View." Press the OK button. This will set the age-based ratings to Mature.

From the Parental Controls menu, select the second option, V-Chip Movie Ratings Limit and change the rating to TV_MA and the "Status" to "View."

From the Parental Controls menu select the third option, V-Chip Unrated Program Block and select item one, which will be "View."

Select the fourth option, which is "Channel Block." Highlight the Channel field and using the channel up and down buttons, go through and check they are all set to 'View." Any set to "Block" will need to be toggled back to View.

Lock the controls to activate the changes using item six on the "Parental Controls" menu.

This CRT based tV is an anlogue one. You can use a universal remote control, except to unlock the FPA lock to this TV. By anyway, this TV has been locked with FPA lock, you must have its original remote control to unlock the lock. You can use most of the RCA universal remote controls with this TV.
RCA RCR 311W will be better. The setup codes are:
1000, 1002, 1004, 1005, 1014, 1025, 1078, 1081, 1095, 1096, 1097, 1098, 1099, 1100, 1101, 1111, 1128, 1130, 1132, 1134, 1144, 1146, 1149, 1171, 1205

To unlock the FPA lock, you must have its original remote control handset. If you haven't it now, just buy ome from the authorised service center for RCA at your town, or just borrow it from andy of your friends or relatives who owns the smae model TV.
To unlock try the folloing methods. One amoung them will surley unlock your tv.

Most RCA TV sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each number until you find the one that works for you.

1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.

Hold down EJECT button on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET. OK.

if the tv is like mine without a power button on the tv try a universal remote or order a new one from rca.

First of all, make sure all components are powered up and plugged in. Next, check that your tv is set to the correct input by pressing tv/video or input button on either the front of your tv or at your remote. Scroll through the inputs by continuously pressing the input button until the see the roku video displayed on your tv.
