try entering your menu settings and activating the inputs to use of the rear of set.eg: if you using a/v 1 make sure they or turned on.

did you go in to you menu and set you audio setting.

pull the ac plug for about 5 min and start your set up again paying atention to the features you want and don;t.set the menu to suite your requirements.

you must have the guige puls activated , if so look in there.

the horizontal section is not firing up to generate high voltage to produce a raser,requires service possible shorted output transistor,not pricy

your tv is ******** down because of cold solder connection on the main pc board.possible around the horizontal section.

Try pressing the display button on your remote for a few seconds, should unlock it.

Please verify model number and give service number.....T.

This model has a regular glass CRT part # A80AJZ9010. The cob webs may be just scratches in the glass. I don't see a protection screen listed on this set. But I will look better tomorrow, and get back to you if I find anything.

1) Try hard reset = unplug AC cords for awhile,then try again.

2) Check with cable company about cable box.......T.

How old is this TV?
Sounds like it has high voltage failure.
(If you hold your hand on the screen when you try and turn it on, do you feel the static? )
Unless the set is over 10 years old, I would overhaul the high voltage circuit. Should cost under $200 at a shop.

clicking,w/no sound or pix is usually IHVT, AKA flyback transformer.Please clarify size and model #. Include last three characters in Thomson products service #---Ex.=F36665-YX01.

Most likely the soda gummed up the contacts inside the remote. You can disassemble the remote and clean the contacts on the pc board and, if it has one, the rubber membrane, which is conductive. Use a pencil eraser for the metal contacts on the pc board after cleaning it.

Hook the cable to the back of the unit.. Go into the customer menu and make sure you've selected cable (as opposed to air). Then do an auto-program and that should solve the problem..

It sound like your set have dryjoints

there is loose contact on the high voltage section in your tv.what you are going to do is open it,and reheat  with soldering iron and a piece of soldering lead the video chroma section and the high voltage section,near the flyback

What exactly are you trying to do?

Please give accurate info==need model and chassis # from

back of set-then I can suggest a solution.T.

Your vertical IC is bad, need to change and also capacitor 100uf
