Rca rs2650 tray wont open and cd wont play

Remove the CD tray the drive motor and gear is joined by a belt. I used a matching rubber band it works. Most of these drive motors. have a belt for safety. Important to replace the CD tray at the same location for line-up with your CD player drive. If you can get couple manufacturer belts do so. The belt is little tougher than the rubber band. And clean all your moving parts gently .

Will not read cd no

Mine never worked out of the box. My solution was to never buy any thing with Thompson or RCA on it as they are all sub standard. Mine made a perfect target at 50 yards.

Won't play CDs

It might be an older CD player that can't read computer-made discs, or it could be a disc incapability... If you sure that the system supports the disc's format.. And it won't play other discs... try to clean the CD lens. Sorry i cant help you more.

RCA RS 2650 will not read CD's

Does it have problems spinning up the disc, so that the disc will start very slowly, like if it didn't have enough power to spin?

If so, the problem might be oxydized brushes and commutator in the spindle motor.

One way is to replace the spindle motor, another way is to clean it (which is not very simple, but it's also not impossible, so if you think you need to clean it and you want info on that, just post me some feedback, i can explain the procedure).

Another thing to check is the door closed switch (you might want to do it prior to dismantling and cleaning the motor, it should be somewhat easier). If the door switch doesn't get activated or if it doesn't work properly, the CD will not start spinning at all.

If the door switch does not get activated when you close the door, then some part of the door that activates the switch might be bent, broken or otherwise damaged, and if the switch does get activated but doesn't seem to make a proper contact, then either the switch has oxydized contacts or it is damaged and needs to be cleaned or replaced respectively.

You can check the switch with a resistance measuring function on a multimeter - it should show just about zero ohms, a few tenths of an ohm maybe when the switch is activated, meaning that the switch is good.

You can also check it with a continuity (diode) test function on the multimeter - it should show about zero millivolts, maybe a millivolt or two voltage drop or give a sound alarm when the switch is activated, again meaning that the switch is good.

Other causes may include problems with electronic motor controller IC (chip), problems with power supply, bad connector contacts or bad solder contacts, just to name a few.

I hope this helps somehow.

Put disc in player spins it, and says ERROR and

Hello,

how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).

The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load Cd's. The weak lens is also what's making it say error and no disc.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.

By so doing your player would play all Cd's with no problem at all.

Good luck.

My RCA RS2650 will read some cd's but others it

What type of CD's are being read and what type are not. It could be as simple as the type, because each CD has a special coding when created, and if your player does not recognize it, it will not play those CDs.

Disc player does not work

Try using a cleaning disc, run it for about 20 to 30 seconds. If that does not help you do not really have any other options, RCA does not sell parts for the audio equipment anymore. They stopped about a year ago or more. I work at a authorized RCA service center and we can not repair any of the RCA audio equipment because of this.

The problem with your CD player is most likely the laser pick up, when it goes bad it can not read the disc's so it thinks there is no disc in it. The laser pick up is the most common reason for your type of problem.

If it is under the RCA warranty still you can send it to them and get a free replacement, if not under warranty you may as well trash it and buy a new one from a different manufacturer. The RCA audio equipment is not very good quality. That is the reason they no longer offer parts for them, it is cheaper for them to give you a new one than to pay a service center to fix it.

Stereo Problem

This unit needs to be dis-assembled and the CD loading mechanism rebuilt. While a relatively straight-forward repair, this is not something to be attempted by an unexperienced individual. There should be no parts required for this repair, just the local labor rate.

Very little sound when playing vinyl on turntable

Hi Lazman, I don't know specific to the 6250, but I think in general you need a "pre-amp" for a phono to work. They are not that expensive. Cindy

CD discs play for 45 seconds and then stop

Don't know about this particular machine, but it may be the "scan" feature is turned on- many disc players will sample a piece of the track and move on to aid in finding a certain song. Check your manual, if you don't have one chances are that there's one available on the manufacturers site, or elsewhere on the web. As always, google is your friend.

CD tray won't open and motor running

I know this is an old post but I saw it through google, because I had the same problem. I ended up tearing the CD door off and was able to look in and see that one of the cds was stuck. The player was trying to play disc 1 but had pulled disc 2 in under neith and it was stuck, causing the issue. As soon as I pulled disc 2 out the system works great.

Clock frozen

It certainly sounds like a defect and I believe would qualify as a warranty repair. Talk to the store where you purchased it to see what their warranty procedure is before it is out of warranty, which can be as little as 90 days. Good luck.

Power Problem

Its not a typical repair that a do it yourselfer can do unless youve had troubleshooting experience on microprocessors. Your problem could be the 5 volt power supply is not filtered clean when it warms up or the reset voltage falls too low for the micro. good luck
