RCA RS2620 Single Cassette Deck Questions & Answers
Rca rs 2620 power but no audio
I had the sane problem: No audio out from any source. Although I was unable to find a schematic or service manual, I did find the defective part was labeled on the circuit board as Q401 and replaced it with RadioShack part number 276-2009 (MPS2222A NPN Transistor TO-92 case NPN silicon). This is not an exact match, but is available at most RadioShack locations for under $1 and has fixed the problem.
UNIT HAS ALL POWER FUNCTIONS BUT OUTPUTS NO SOUND.
This comes to mind:
Did you perhaps connect the rca jacks to the record in instead of the play out?
Maybe the rca cable is not plugged in at all on either the receiver end or tape deck end.
Have you tried using a different rca cable?
Did you select the right input on the receiver?
You may try using a different input on the receiver.
I know these sound obvious, but they may fix the problem.
Need a belt kit for a Technics M227X Cassette
where do you live and what are your local electronics distributors? this is where you get your parts and for your first question if your determined to try to repair your unit than might i suggest a methodical deconstruction and reconstruction. tape transport units are complicated and you better be prepared, components include clutch assembly's housed under gear plates and timed by position censors. it is not as easy as just replacing a beltAr you ready for this ?Regards Falco
My RCA RS2620 has a shorted D820 and a burned
hi rnollett,
I just plugged my cousins RCA RS2620 into 220volt mains and burned the transformer because its originally 110 volt rating from canada. If you could please test your units transformer output voltages of RED-BLACK-RED wires so I can tell the technician to rewind the transformer usable to 220volt mains, he is asking me those output voltages and I dont have a clue.
Regarding your D820 and R886 if you have'nt yet found suitable replacements, in return, I will check the values of those parts here and I will send it to you.
Many thanks in advance.
What are the volt fuses for RCA RS2620? I mean
That would depend on the mains supply of the unit in question. If it has a 250 volt mains supply use a 250 volt fuse. However the crucial one is the amp rating. If it was a 300ma fuse installed a fuse no greater than that should be used. If it was a 2amp fuse a 1.5 could be used, but not a 2.5. Many fuses are fitted with a 250 volt rating in areas where it would never go higher than say 50 volts, such as in the secondary winding of the transformer.
RS 2620 has power but I do get any sound
If you are not familiar with electronic circuitry, I would strongly suggest you did not try to service the unit yourself. There are many circuit functions that need to be tracked and evaluated, any one of which could be the problem or one of the problems.
Please consider taking unit to to serviced
