I had a 26" Samsung LCD that wouldn't turn on, and the red light stayed on too, so I knew it was getting power. I found some info out there and figured out how to fix it. Also made a video to show others. I'm a complete newb so if I can do it, I know a lot of others can too. Make sure you research stuff and be safe when fixing it. I take no responsibility if you mess up your own TV! But like I said, I fixed it, so I figured almost anyone can. Also, it only cost me $1.40.

Greetings. I have a Samsung LN26A450, turn on and normal listening but no video, the screen is black. I opened it and found the F4 in the inverter card open, stamped value says "15" on the board says "0.75A/76V", I put that value and reopen, maybe the value is 1.5 A or 15A ?. I measured most components in the board and are ok.

The power supply in many of Samsung’s TV's have capacitors installed that are rated for 10v that feed a 12v bus causing them to bulge or fail. If you are out of warranty, get someone who understands electronics to fix it.

Problem: Samsung LTM1755B with only a blinking yellow LED when you try to turn it on.

Solution: I just had one of these come in. I opened it up, and found the U501 capacitor a little suspicious looking, in that it had a deformed top. It was a 470uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 12mm. I replaced it with a very good quality 1000uF 16V electrolytic 105degC 10mm x 16mm Nichicon UHN1C102MPD. After that repair, when I tried to turn it on, the LED was yellow for a second, then green, then I got a picture, and it appeared to work great. I then asked the owner a week later how it was working, and they said it was working just like new!

sounds like your PSU board is bad. you can replace the board itself or just the faulty components. If you are not inclined to this type of work I recommend calling a service tech.

just remember to unplug it because it will hurt if you zap yourself.

i had a similar problem with a 47 inch vizio lcd t.v. It would be fine for a while then all of a sudden the black areas and shadows would all become red lines in theses areas. I brought it back to the guy who i had purchased it from and he had told me that the reason for the lines was a bad video card.i got a new set and it works just fine.So i would reccomend getting a new card or sending it back to the manufacturer for them to install a new one for you. hope this helps.

hi Kiril,

the culprit here is the starter capacitor. this may have been blown or currently leaking. This capacitor can be replaced and is usually near the power supply of the TV. Samsung parts can easily be found on any TV repair center so you may want to take a note of it.

if the device is still under warranty, best move is to have this go through warranty to make sure of a quality repair from samsung techs

regards,

voodoo

On the back of the tv at the top of the stand will be four silver screws, remove those with the set laying on it's face or the tv may fall over. after those are removed the stand will slide out of the bottom of the tv. Hope this helps.
