More than likely that is a main board problem. Check to see if you have stand by voltage. if you have stand by its the main board if you don't then its the power supply.if you change the main board out and it don't work then your Tcon board is bad too. thats the problem 99%
of the time when you have half screen.

If you haven't gotten an answer or put it in the shop, try rebooting it. Most modern TV's stay on in a standby mode and if you don't PULL the PLUG out of the wall it won't reboot.

I know this is obvious, but make sure you press TV on the remote and then hit the menu button. It should still access the tv menu as long as there’s a menu button on the remote the remote is in fact the original Vizio Remote Control that goes to that particular TV.

Also, you can remove the batteries from the remote, then use a wire or anything that conducts electricity to touch the positive and negative terminals together- these are the spring type and/or flat components that the batteries actually touch. Hold a piece of wire to each side, (+) and (-), at the same time and this too can get rid of stored data on some remote models. Aluminum Foil works well instead of a spare wire if you don’t have one within reach.

I hope this helps, along with the other great answer already posted.

Taking the back off is the easy part, getting the panel apart and back together without damaging it is the hard part, below is a vid that may help, its not the same model but most vizios are similar

go get you some freeze from electronic store. remove back and let tv run till the problem happen. spray chips until problem stops and replace board with the chip you cooled. do it several times to be sure.

this problem can be 1 or 2 things. 1 your buffer boards are going bad. 2 the back screen lights are blown, and if that's the problem it can be fixed but its a hard thing to do, you have to take the lcd apart and replace the L.E.D that are dead.
