Maybe you can fix it in the service menu.Turn off TV, press mute then 182, Turn on TV and check out new menu items

hit menu button on remote....should be an option for power settings....check auto shut off option...

A constantly blinking light means shutdown.The most common issue in this model is convergence-----if the convergence circuit has railed (this means shorted parts) it can cause the set to do what you describe.Before I suggest a course of action----what is your skill level with electronic repairs? Hi , first thing is check for leaks coolant in all 3 tubes. It is a very common problem in Samsung projection TV. This means, if you have a leak, it makes no sense to repair your TV, isa big money for parts. Another possible solution would be convergence board is damaged, two STK 392-040 IC's number; also has associated resistors that can be opened or burned. Be careful, Try to open the TV and watch these two important details. If you have further questions, do not hesitate , I will be here.

The problem of your tv is the convergence. Projection tv set has a 3 colors red,blue and green this 3 colors must be properly lined up to look the video normal. When this 3 colors is not properly aligned the video will produce a double image of color or like a 3d or wavy. In order to fix this problem you should adjust it in the menu program of your tv you should move any of the colors to up or down, left or right if you cannot align the 3 colors the problem is the convergence ic it must be replace. To locate the convergence ic you should remove the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug your tv, you will see this ic attached in a large aluminum plate it has a marking of stk--- and followed by a numbers. or you could contact a service technician do do it for you and save you from stress. You need to have the solder connections on the vertical output IC. Also there is pump up capacitor that goes bad or leaky that need to be checked. Rework the entire vertical section of the set to make sure all solder connections are ok.

Both of those resistors are 3.9 ohm 2watt metal film resistors for the convergence ICs. The ICs will most likely need replacement as well.

this is likely a convergence problem, the convergence chips- stk-xxx-xxx would need replacement
along with the large wattage resistors connected to them-look for 1-3 ohms the exact value varies
over a number of models do an ohms check replace if out even a small amount

There could be many reasons for the same ranging from convergence problem to faulty hyper module. This problem needs a tech to properly diagnose the board and the module. It would be worth repair. Do not try to get it repaired from a local shop as i have seen them overcharging for small parts.The best option would be to call Samsung and get it replaced.The repair would be anywhere around $250 - $350 depending upon the fault.

Your problem is do to shorted Convergence Ic's which will not let the set power up until problem is rectified. You have a very reliable set there. The Ic's will cost about $25.00 for the pair and a tech can install them reasonably cheap. I do recommend repairing it.

When you say blank screen and no picture, does that mean you still have sound?
