Display problem with my Samsung HLP5085W DLP TV
What you are describing sounds like a tuner issue. Samsung had a run of bad tuners, and was recalled. If your watching a chennel and the image tears, this is the sign of the bad tuner. It is possible that the wobulation circuit is unstable. First units we bothered by subwoofers thumping the TV. Not much help other than that, good luck

Fan making a noise
Fans do go out on these units but it could also be the color wheel beginning to fail. You can remove the lower rear cover and observe the fans in operation, but there is a blue safety switch that must be held down before the unit will come on. You can also call 1-800-samsumg to find closest service center.

Replace bulb
There is a small access door on the rear panel of the set. Open that door and you will see the lamp cage it pulls straight out.

This set has green plaid screen on all analog
This is the digital board causing the problem, so replace that board or try this - the problem may be connections on the DNIE chip on the digital board, near the DVI connector at the back side of the board. Apply pressure to this chip. It is a BGA type (Ball Grid Array) that has pins underneath that contact points on the board. This is becoming common with high density ICs where external pin connections require larger size chips, tighter spacing, and geometries that are not efficient for the design of the chip. There are good reasons to use BGA, but they can be difficult to solder properly. Apparently, Samsung has had some issues with this chip. One solution is to try to re-flow the solder. I don't suggest this for anyone without the right equipment or trechnical expertise. It is very easy to heat the wrong parts or overheat the chip, board, or related parts. The board is encased in a metal housing with holes. Look for something that might fit between the chip and housing to put some pressure on the chip. A small bolt might fit between the chip and the metal housing above it. Fit it in, then push the edges of the housing down to where you can put the screws holding it all together back in. There will be significant tension on the bolt, with the larger hex head end standing on the chip and the tip of the screw fitting against the metal housing (bolt standing on its head on top of the chip). It will take a little pressure to get the screws back in, which is good, as it will use the housing like a large spring pushing down on the bolt, which will put a great deal of pressure on the chip. Simple solution if this is the problem.

I turned on my tv and now it shoes a lime green
According to your description it is one of two things...
Each of the 3 primary colors in an older “Tube” TV has it's own driver circuit. This is most likely your problem. It could be something as simple as a transistor and possibly some support components in your green driver circuit. The other possibility is the color gun in the tube itself has gone bad. If you have electronic repair knowledge then you can certainly attempt the repair it yourself. However, if you do not, it is VERY dangerous or even deadly in the back of these sets and you should call a technician for the job. Now comes the question... Is it even worth fixing? Well, you got a lot of good years out of it. Quite often does an older TV get repaired just to break down again soon after. Picture quality and technology has come so far since then they you may want to consider investing in a new unit. The new F.C.C. Digital broadcasting rules will also affect every older TV to the point that very soon you won't even be able to receive a broadcast with out a signal conversion box.

Screen is red instead of blue
there is a jumper on the DMD board, the one that the colorwheel plugged into.. there is a small window to pull it out.. if there isn't one, then you have to add one. there was 2 types of colorwheels on this set, jumper tells it which one
it looks like this, its like 1/16 inch, so this is way oversized. sometimes if you can't see it, you have to remove the shield (only saw once, i think it was a manufacturing mistake) let me know if you need further assistance

Load humming and flashing screen
Have your color wheel replaced, you can replace it your self, there are videos on youtube on how to go about replacing the color wheel yourself.
