well what i would do is make sure everything is plugged in right and then try it again and if taht doesnt work then if you still have the reciet then i would take it to where you bought it and then they should just let you get another one free thats what i usually do in a problem like that.

You need to replace the lamp to correct this issue

SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECTIVE DMD CHIP STANDS FOR DIGITAL MODULE DEVICE. I DONT THINK IT IS AVAILABLE ALONE IT IS THE CHIP INSIDE THE TV THAT THE DLP TECHNOLOGY IS BASED OFF OF IT HAS MILLIONS ON TINY MIRRORS ON THE FACE OF IT THAT MOVE ACCORDING TO THE VIDEO AND BASICALLY YOU HAVE STUCK MIRRORS CAUSING THE SPOTS

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

It is either or both, depending on how you look at it. It can display either format along with 480i and 480p. The display mode is determined by the signal presented to the unit. If a 1080i format is present it will display it in 1080i. Also any other format that it can present (the one's that I listed) will be presented in that format when present.

Tv projection lamp life is ending.Replacing the tv projection lamp,will solved this problems.

This is a problem associated with the light engine of the unit, most likely the color wheel and/or DMD board. How thick are the lines?

If you mean there's a hum from the speakers it could be a disturbance in your AC line. Or a hum from a DLP projection TV could also be a bad color wheel. But if its from the speakers of the TV it could be noise in the power supply from a few warped capacitors.

The tv colors wheel is dying,replaced the tv colors wheel,will solved this problems.Hire a tv Tech.to change the tv colors wheel,it pretty hard to change the colors wheel in this tv.Because u require take out many machanical parts before u even can come to the tv colors wheel itself to change it.

With this TV there is only one projection bulb.My first suggestion is to replace the bulb that illuminates the screen,it might be nearing its life out.Still you need to check the lens too for some dust that accumulated on the surface,clean it with a cotton glass cleaner,it might get things a little brighter.If this doesn't help go to my first suggestion.

This tv have a colors wheel,it dying,now it dead.Colors flashes black&white and grinding noises,the colors wheel was spinning off of it motor axis and rubbing it sides wall.The colors wheel,now require changing to make the tv work again.The colors wheel it pretty hard to replaced,because it require take out many machanicals parts even can get to the colors wheel to replaced it.Best it to hire a tv tech. to do the job.If u never done or change anythings,that require take out alots and many machanicals parts before.

Have you Check the Lamp Fan is it still running while Lamp trys to light?Ballast board is what powers Lamp on ,but if the Lamp Fan is defective Lamp will not light.

You still need to get an audio Left and right connected from the video source.And for the digital reception from the antenna source is not possible because your unit is not equipped with a digital tuner(it is NTSC or analog reception only)it needs an add on digital tuner that has an hdmi output.Newer ones now are equipped with digital tuners.

I would be the farm that its a bad color wheel. Depending on your mechanical ability you might can swap it yourself. No soldering is required but quite a bit of dis assembly will be required.. Part number for the model you listed is BP96-00674A Heres a link to MCM that show it in stock

It is very certain that the lamp is having a leakage that is why it takes time to get it to come on.

Replacing the lamp is the solution to the problem, replacing the lamp is quite simple, but you have to be cautious in order to avoid shock and other kind of damages in the unit.

To replace the lamp, you need to unplug the television for about an hour or 2, so the high voltage in it will dissipate, then you get the appropriate screwdriver to unscrew the screws that are around the television, then you will see the lamp, it looks like a kind of bulb. Some of them have their lamp in front by the lower side of the control panel of the television.

So when you get a replacement lamp, all you have to do is to remove the old lamp and place the new one in it. then reassemble the television back together and it will be in good condition once again.

Take note, that you should be able to spend on any of your accessories irrespective of the amount of years it might have lasted. That will only show you care for your accessories. It is better fixing a old one that has worked perfectly fine for years that to get a new one that is still likely to develop faults anytime.
