Samsung Home Theatre "Protection Error"
i've had a similar problem where the fan stopped moving and the system gave the usual "protect" error. i think the IC's burned out on the amp board since the error was no longer there when i unplugged it. i ordered a new board off ebey for $25 shipped. make sure this is the problem by unplugging both the power and data cables from the amp circuit (the board with the big heatsink) and starting it. if it says starts normally then the problem is the amp circuit

Does it have a fan in the back? Is it spinning? If it does have a fan that is not spinning, you may be able to replace it. Another possibility is a short in the speaker wiring, check the wires to make sure that a strand or wire is not contacting another wire...
Dvd do not loads
Our started doing the same thing about a week after the warranty ran out. It has to do with the alignment of the discs being loaded. here's a work-around that works for us:
Open the tray
Choose which disc you are going to watch and use the Change Disc button to push the selected disc to the back (ie, if you want to view Disc 1, discs 3 and 4 will be visible in the tray).
Look down the center holes of discs 3 and 4... manually move your tray left-or-right to align the holes with the tray.
Push the Direct Play button on the top right of the unit for your disc of choice (Disc 1 using the example above).
hope that helps... I've searched for a while and played around with the unit (with and without the cover on) trying to figure out a way to re-align the tray, but no luck.

When I put on my DVD player, it says
I assume "PROT" means some sort of protection mode. I would check to see if any of your speaker wires are crossed at the speakers or the receiver. If not you may have shorted something internal.
Same probleme ht-x250
with the receiver power off, hold down the stop button on the front of the receiver for 5 seconds. it will reset the system.
Optical Cable input not working
It is likely that the optical fiber inside the cable is broken, it is really sensible and gets damaged easily. I'd try changing the cable before even opening the home theater.
Used lens laser lens cleaner & now player won't play.
You can open the dvd and try to clean it manualy.open the dvd so you can see the lazer.take a normal earbud and wet it with normal methylated spirits and clean the lazer gently with that.the lazer cleaners hardly ever work 100%.Just remember not to push to hard on the lazer or you will brake it.gently clean and wait for lazer to dry and try again.
