We lost power and now when I try to turn it on

Normally, that's exactly how you fix it but it may take more than a half an hour. Some devices take as long as 24 hours. If the unit doesn't reset itself after 24 hours, something is wrong and the the unit needs servicing.
That being said, your manual say that in case of a power outage to turn the unit off and hold the STOP (the little square) button on the unit for longer than five seconds. NOTE: Doing this will reset the unit and erase all saved settings.

Dvd will not play i

Check for fingerprints or dirt on your DVD. Wipe it clean and try again. Also check for scratches. Try another DVD and see if your system reads it.

Will play dvds with sound fine...but no sound from tv

You have to connect extra red & white audio cable from your TV's (or cable box, if you have one) AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 at the back (below Video In). Set the HTS unit to AUX 2 using the AUX button on the remote control and you should be able to get sound.

Home theater suddently turn off

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Remote has quit working

you can go to bestbuy.com and at the bottom of page you can click on order parts and follow prompts to order original remote or you can call 1888bestbuy and ask for someone in parts dept. If not through bestbuy parts you can call 1800remotes. You need model number of system if you go through either company for original remote. Speaker system

This definately means that you have a positve and negative speaker wire touching somewhere. First thing to do would be to check all connections at the speakers and on back of receiver and make sure all wires are seperated. This is a common problem if two wires are touching each other. If you check all connections and they look ok and you still have same problem you need to start unhooking all wires and hook them up one at a time and turn on system. If it works with one speaker then try hooking up a second speaker wire and so on until it gives you protection message again. Basically process of elemenation. Once you says that protection message you need to replace the last wire you hook up all together as you could of damaged it when running speaker wire or it could be a defect in speaker wire. Video inputs

I had the same problem until I switched my player-to-TV connection from S-Video to Composite.  Then it worked just fine.  Now I have player-to-TV as Composite, and Wii-to-player as Composite connected to Aux1.

Pairing Samsung remote to Yamaha RX-V361

Normally makers don't play ball between each other. Yes if it was a Samsung Television and a Samsung Receiver A/V System. Or if you have something like a Cable Box or Satellite System that is made to interact with other makes. Or if it is a Universal Remote. I think you were just lucky that it happened to use the same frequency. Look in the manual for a scan command. https://www.google.com/search?q=Connect+Samsung+OLED+S90+remote+to+Yamaha+RX-V361+via+optical ..
