Syntax LT30HV 30 in. HD-Ready LCD Television Questions & Answers
Syntax LT30HV
I know it's been a long time since people posted here but the answer is an easy one. On the inverter board you will see a chip that says "OZ960" on that chip you need to solder an led from pin 10 to pin 16. I used digikey's part number L10041-ND. I could get into the technical reason but this fix does work.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
No picture just sound
Common problem unfortunately (mine too). What's you need is a new inverter board. You can have it repaired or, if savvy enough, you can replace the inverter yourself. The inverter board costs about $150 atlcdparts.net I have seen some on ebay but don't know if can be trusted ;)
Good luck!

How do I unlock the child lock on Syntax LT27
Use the buttons at the bottom of the screen right below the bezel with the ON/OFF blue light. The buttons are hidden as they face towards the floor. But you can access the OSD by using MENU and you can navigate using the CH +/- or VOL +/- unfortunately I can't check because my TV is being repaired (got the same model)
Anyway if it helps here is the order of the button left to right while looking at the screen:
[INPUT] [VOL-] [VOL+] [CH+] [CH-] [MENU] [POWER]
I hope this helps you :)

You are indeed correct, you answered your own question. You are looking at the HDCP issue. TV Firmware has little to do with that issue because no updates would rectify the "problem" (which is actually a lack of feature). The issue is caused by the hardware as you would need a chip that is not present on this HDTV.
Your Olevia TV is simply not HDCP compliant, believe me, I own the very same model. ;) It's an older TV produced when HDCP was starting to appear on the market for the first HDMI-equipped HDTVs, therefore the only purpose for that DVI port is the same one of the VGA port, i.e. to double the use of the TV as a desktop monitor, or allow to attach a computer used as multimedia center. You still need to use separate ports for audio signals since DVI here is not carrying both video and audio. Even if you use an DVI to HDMI adapter the result would be the same. Therefore if you need to used the Olevia with your HT system I would advise upgrading to a newer HDCP compliant model and maybe use this one for something else that would not require HDCP compliance.
The blues screen is a "normal" behavior for all HDCP non-compliant TV sets. We only have the greed and fear of the MPAA and "friends" to thank for crippling our electronics. It's all due to that and to their ineptitude and lack of interest to find a better solution to content piracy. Obviously it's also due to the fact that they can pretty much write whatever rule they like since they and are completely unaccountable. Therefore after buying a $1400 HDTV, we (you and I both plus all the other owners of similar HDTVs) are no longer allowed to use our electronics because we would certainly do so only to steal from all the poor in Hollywood Beverly Hills and other Slums like those across the globe! ;P That is why any TV that is not HDCP compliant will not receive any signal other than the blue screen of "I assume you are trying to steal copyrighted material" because you see... we all are thieves before being customers as they like to remind us through the warning they shove dow our ocular nerves as we are forced (can't skip or ffwd like the old VHS tapes!) to watch each time we play a movie that we have lawfully rented, purchased, or streaming through a dedicated service.
Since consumers don't (and never will) have the power to make a decision in similar matters and all those ""AA" associations who have an absolute power (which we already know it corrupts absolutely ;P), will definitely make sure consumers never get any leverage so that those "AAs" will never be forced into adopting a fair approach for those of us who are not thieves of protected material. If consumers can't protest then the "AAs" and their supporters can exercise all the carelessness they need and still get away with impunity. Sure, they may be able to find a more viable solution, but… why bother?
So in conclusion, quoting a famous show: "there is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture..."they control" all that you see and hear… ;D
How to unlock?
I assume you are talking about the Parental Control. You can read more about it on the guide on page 22. If you have no User Guide
here is a copy for you as a PDF file that you can also search.
Note: If you forget the password, press “9999” to lift the lock and enter the sub-page .
I hope this helps you.
My tv mitsubishi wd62628 has a sound but no
How do you know the lamp is good? How did you tested it?
I will hypothesize that you either:
1) tested the lamp separately on another TV or using an external rig and when you did that the lamp went on, while when you put it back in your own TV the same lamp would not go on
or:
2) tested the lamp mounting it inside your TV and saw it lit up,
In case #1 you may be having a bad ballast since your TV powers up (you get sound) and the lamp is tested good. If the lamp does not when you put it in your TV then the problem is with the ballast not powering up the lamp.
In case #2 the ballast would be fine because the lamp goes on while mounted in your TV, so here you are likely to have a problem with the LCD itself.
In either cases I'd recommend to check with a professional and maybe one that can diagnose the damage for free ad let you decide if you want to proceed to fix your TV or not
Good luck! :)
After 30 minutes the vision is disappear
If your TV works for a short period and then the image disappear it's likely the LCD inverter that powers the CCFL backlight. therefore what you will likely need is to change the inverter.
I assume that is you If you let the TV cool down for a while (or use it next day) then you keep having the same problem.
I have the opposite problem where the picture appears after 30 minutes, then stays on. As annoying as it is it's less of a problem because as long as I let the LCD war up for 30 min. then I can use the TV. Unfortunately in your case the TV is only usable for 30 minutes.
You can buy a used/refurbished one on ebay or you could head over to lcdparts.net where the inverter is available at $150 (this was the lowest i could find in online stores).
Good luck with your repair Maciej!
