Dont rush into changing boards. In many of those sets, the issue is back light LED strips that fail and the power board shuts down.

Why can't you just buy the remote control?

The Hisense EN3G39 is the remote control for the 55N8700UW, 65N8700UWG, and other TVs. I have never seen an option for removing the standby mode from any TV without a change to the firmware. The TV will always return to the standby mode when power is returned. The type of firmware change that you want will not be available from the TV manufacturer. The smart plug is great for reducing your power bill when you aren't watching TV. It won't avoid the turn on step. I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells (I wouldn't recommend trusting a third-party firmware if one exists or was created for your TV. That would void any warranty and could cause problems with the TV.)

Probably a stuck button, either the menu button on the set itself is stuck or a menu button on a remote is active. Press the menu button on the set itself and see if that "un-sticks" the button, if it was indeed stuck. If the menu keeps popping up, take the remotes from the room and go back in without the remotes and see if the menu is popping up. Try the menu button again on the TV itself to see if that changes things. If the problem was a remote, perhaps it was laying wrong and depressing a button. Or, a button on it may have indeed been stuck. Bring the remotes back in and see if the menu starts popping up.

Messages al over the Internet say it simply cannot be done with HiSense. Many people have returned their HiSense for only that reason. Apparently very limited in App ability.
