Touch focus error will not correct
If the touch focus isnt working and the picture has a 3D look you will need to change the conversion ICs. This is a straight forward repair just unsolder the old and solder in the new. You will need to replace both. They are located on a large aluminum heatsink and they will have STK numbers stamped on them they are quite large easy to find. The numbers will be something like STK392-110 or simallar. Let me know if you need anymore info.

53h71 toshiba projection TV with noise in picture
The problem you have is on the hyper module located behind the rear input panel. Inside the shield there are about 6 or 7 10mf/16v surface mounted capacitors. Replace them and your problem will be history. As for the shop that did the repair they owe you a call back to do it right. However, request that you get a different tech to come out. Do not attempt the repair yourself, it involves excellent soldering skills and parts removal. Good luck
The words on the screen is doubled or trippled.
Go to the picture control menu and turn the color to minumum so that you are watching a black & white picture. Do this to determine if the color offset affects the overall screen or just the lower corner. If the center is off, go to the convergence adjustment menu and align the red and blue onto the green as described in the owners manual. Some models also allow you to align the outer edges as well. If the bottom is still bad you may have a problem in the convergence circuit. If the outlines are not seriously bowed or distorted a minor convergence toutchup by a qualified technician should correct the problem, otherwise parts are involved and the repair is considered major.

TV rapid power cycles
Could be power supply related or the hyper board, Toshiba p/n# 23148017... Cycling on/off is the TV's protection circuit going into shutdown to keep from causing real damage. Get it to a shop and have them estimate it.

Look carefully at metal jumpers feeding b+ to convergence IC's.
Both will need re-soldering or you will keep having problems.
Let me know how it goes.T.

Your Television is going into protection shutdown. More than likely the problem will be sweep related IE Convergance is the most likely culprit your best bet is to have a technician look at it
Blue arc
There are 2 large convergence IC's and the one that handles Blue Vertical (BV) has burned out and needs to be replaced. This is by far the most common failure in those projection sets. It is a good idea to go ahead and replace both STK392-110 IC's with the newer improved STK392-150's. If you have never replaced convergence IC's and realigned convergence circuits then have a qualified tech handle it for you.
