For most sewing machines, raise the current presser foot and place the needle in the highest position. Take off the current presser foot, including the shank (for snap-on feet). Place the lever of the walking foot on the needle clamp screw. Then secure the shank part of the walking foot to the presser bar with the set screw that held the shank of the previous foot in place. Lower the presser foot and sew. Remember to slow down the machine to a medium or slower speed. There are only three types of sewing machine shanks for presser feet: high, low and slant. I've seen more snap-on feet with low shank "ankles". As long as you have a walking foot with the correct shank for your machine, it should work. (There are some fancier walking presser feet (IDT, for example) with a quick disable option but that wouldn't be available for the Hobbycraft 32s. grant514 Has pretty much hit the nail on the head but the RF suppressor is located in the motor housing, not the foot pedal. It bridged the terminals where the foot pedal connects. Removing this capacitor resolved the same issue in my machine and given the absence of radio receiving equipment in my home now I have had no ill effects.

This might be a Montgomery Ward machine sold about 1984. That is sometimes found as a URR 1273. But you might re-post what the brand is and have some success. In spite of one site claiming to have the manual, it did not. Nor did The Spruce site. There are a number of sites offering free sewing machine manuals but I could not find the manual --except as an IMAGE which was of insufficient resolution to read even with resizing it. Even so, I was not sure it was from Montgomery Ward who actually rebranded their machines rather than making them. You can try a Google search using the brand and the model number and "sewing machine" and might have luck. Otherwise, check with Sewing Machine Instruction Manuals - Sewing Parts Online or https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/sewing-machine-manuals-or-replacement-manuals-2978304 The only other option I can think of is to post in a sewing hobbyist forum on the web.

just tighten the screw holding the pressure foot on, or if it's missing replace with a new one that you should be able to purchase at any sewing supply store.

This will depend on the AUX cord your using. Not all AUX cables have a power supply as part of the wire. That is a simple detector so it will most likely need the 9 volt to power up.

Taking off the Face Place gives you room to use a screwdriver for step 2... 2. Unscrew the Needle Plate (#12 in User Guide Overview), and take out the Bobbin holder (black). Slide the lever for the Feed Teeth to the raised position, and with your forefinger pop up the Feed Teeth (underneath the needle) to the raised position. You will here a click... and you are set to go. Reassembly your machine and get back to sewing!

The Happy Lock Serger was sold by Montgomery Wards and made for them by Riccar or the same company that made the Riccar. The Happylock UTH-J-1867 is the same as the Riccar Model RL 603. Search manualslib for the owners manual and it's available for free download. I was just looking for the same thing when I did an image search of my newly acquired ( old ) serger and found the info to cross reference the model.

Take the needle out and look at it. Your daughter may have bent it, or she may have taken it out and put it back in the wrong way around. Flat on the needle, flat to the shaft on most machines. Also with the needle out, and no thread you can try running zig-zag, the change back to straight stitch.
