The actual board is in a box, careful the four metal pins must be un-soldered to remove the unit from the main board.

Don't know what wires your using to connect to tv. It does matter, sometimes the connections go bad, either at the tv or cable box. Have you tryed to stretch picture in settings?

Hi.It is probably a defective ballast board or a faulty PSU. The ballast is the high voltage power board connected to the lamp.The PSU is the board that supplies power in different voltages to the other internal parts. One of the DC lines from PSU goes straight to the ballast. The repair is done testing the voltage from PSU to ballast. The job must be done by a technician.

ur tvs crt sockets have some problem. change the three crt sockets at the same time . also check for screen voltages of crt's. increase it slightly. there will be three independent screen voltage adjustments for each gun.

yes it is, your hyper board has bad caps and they will just get worse and worse. you can run it on an HD signal to keep it going longer but eventually even the HD will have the wavy lines too.. basically the hyper board needs new 10uf 16v surface mount capacitors, replace all those and your golden, but its a difficult repair, even for a educated and seasoned electronics tech, estimate from repair shop will run you $250-$550
if you can solder surface mount, you can fix it yourself for like $20

Look on your Convergence board the one that has your STK iCs STK392-110s their should be 6 resistors all 1.8 ohms Mats Elctronics has Parts for this TV 1-800-628-1118 more then likely you have a bad resistor that controls the red.

To things it could be connection problems in your cables, or your color wheel inside the set is in need of replacing.

yes it is repairable will not be cheap.a tech will have to do the convergence inside the tv,the remote only does so much.i have had 3 in the past and when they get older they become dull,i would not by rear projection any more years going back that was the only choose you had for a big screen ,now lcd and plasma have come down in price i would be looking at that if i was you.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu.
