Toshiba 52HMX84 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television Questions & Answers
Blue still image when on.
Usually that only appear when there are no video input, its better than that flickering/raining/scratching image.
Toshiba 52hmx84 door not seated properly
Have a look for a safety switch--usually a lever the door engages when closed--a peg or similar will engage the lever and switch to prevent set from being operated with door removed.Switch may not be getting engaged--does not take much. Also examine to see if door is warped from heat even a little bit.The other thing you can do if find the lever is engage it with something not metal and if no problem with set then door or lever is your problem.Do not operate with door removed for a long period of time or look directly at the light from the lamp!

It's not a 1k Resistor but a 10k...it's the resistor R3 on the Circuit Board Part Number RPB-4434ZA (P/N: 23122468). If you don' replace the resistor you will keep burning your lamp. If you decide to replace the resistor by yourself...you should take the time to look at all the on the back of the board. This Board is made by the company Rubicon Corporation for Toshiba and it's a issue on the Toshiba DLP TV (62-52HMX84). If you don't wanna do the job yourself..bring your TV to a repair and give him the part number of the board and ask him to replace the board for you. If the price is higher than $350.00 go somewhere else...He try to fu....^&*%*%&%.

If you have a bunch of dust or per hair on the cooling fan, that would lead to shot bulb life. Also if the power to the set is shut down before the cooling fan is done running it will really shorten the bulb life.
The green light on the front flashes 9 times, the
You probably need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.
Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.
Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.
Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!
ON and off itself every few seconds.
Hello,
The power light may be flashing or if you are runing with a series light bulb it may be cycling on and off continuously. There may be a chirping or clicking sound from inside the set. (Note: using too small a series light bulb load during testing for the size of the TV may also result in this condition.)
If there is a low voltage regulator or separate switching supply, it could be cycling on and off if the horizontal output, flyback, or one of its secondary loads were defective.
Does this TV have a separate low voltage regulator and/or switching power supply or is it all part of the flyback circuit? For the following, I assume it is all in one (most common).
Some simple things to try first:
Verify that the main filter capacitor is doing its job. Excessive ripple on the rectified line voltage bus can cause various forms of shutdown behavior. An easy test is to jumper across the capacitor with one of at least equal voltage rating and similar capacitance (make connections with power off!).
Use a Variac, if possible, to bring up the input voltage slowly and see if the TV works at any point without shutting down. If it does, this could be an indication of X-ray protection circuit kicking in, though this will usually latch and keep the set shut off if excessive HV were detected.
Take Care.....
My TV switches of automatically on startup. It
sounds like you r color weel is going bad bad thing is that your color wheel in most of the toshibas is in the light engine and can not be changed seperaly so if this is your problem then your looking at 600-900 replacement or 300-400 to rebuild
