How to fix a broken antenna input plug on a toshiba tv

These input plugs are often soldered on to a printed circuit board mounted to the internal chassis of the TV. Much of the circuitry in a TV is lethal when switched on, and in some types, even when not plugged in for a time. Therefore I'd advise taking it to a repair shop and asking for a cost estimate. With parts and labour that might even approach the cost of a new one, for which you get a warranty. .

No radio stations

Short of it being taken back to factory reset via its menu system, which most will do in some way (Initial setup sequence) the other possible cause could be its tuner which may have a partial fault if so then it is possibly a service call out. Unless its a simple job, sadly these days it will have to go to a service centre contact Toshiba for a local repair place they will have better knowledge of your item.

Volume stuck maxed out

the intrenal switch that controls the volume up is shorted. you need to have it replaced. the short of the switch doesn't allow any other buttons on the set to work because the micro is recieving the volume up command. it's as if there is an invisible finger pushing the volume up button. the switch is a tachtile switch which is very inexpencive to repair about $50.00 total. if you want to do the repair yourself be aware there are voltages that remain in the set that can be harmful. 50% of the time the cause of these switches shorting is improper screen cleaning. some people spray glass cleaner directly on the screen, this is bad. the cleaner drips into the set and lands on the PC board where the buttons are housed. but I've seen the other 50% also which is hummidity, dust(not anyones fault this just happens), and simple switch failure. so becareful repairing it your self
