If it's an android device... 1. Enter wrong pattern 5 times and wait for 30 seconds. 2. Select "Forgot pattern" and enter your email account username and password. 3. Make sure you use the same account that was used to activate the device and double check the password by logging in to that email account in a browser. 4. If you don't have access to the original email account, you will need to do a hard reset and loose your settings and apps on the devcice. The data on the memory card will not be wiped though. Try removing your phones battery & put it back.

Try holding down the power and volume down buttons.

if the phone is old or has been dropped then it could be your mic that has broke. the speaker is at the top ( so you can hear ) mic is at the bottom ( so they can hear ) but if you know the phone is fine or was fine then you could of muted the call. dial out and keep the phone away from your ear so you can check the screen ( the screen turns off when you hold it to your ear ) then you can check for a mute button or secrecy button. ( we use them to put people on hold so they cant hear what we say )
