I'm sorry to tell you but this is caused by the aging of tube. There's nothing more that can be done to save this tv, time for a new one.

Mine did this...jiggle the cable imput and watch the picture to see if it flashes. Mine did so..the cable imput is the prob

is it a universal remote? you may have to reprogram it. there may be a website with all the codes.

Check where the F connector is soldered inside the tuner circuitry, it may have a loose solder joint there. Also check the inside of the connector where the coax is attach, sometimes the inside conductors spreads and do not make good electrical contacts.
