Need to replace this High Voltage Regulator, (transformer) how do I find out which one I need and how to replace it?

there is a difference between transformers and regulators so don't confuse the items You can believe it as some tv makes are no longer repairable because there are no parts available from the manufacturer You will need to take it to a tv repair shop to have the problem properly diagnosed and then ask if they have an old unit that has the part required

Does my Toshiba 32HFX72 have

Hi Julia.

Unfortunately, your tv does NOT have a digital tuner built into it.This means that you will need to get a digital converter box in order to receive station broadcasts.
Luckily, places like WalMart Target, Kmart and Radio Shack all carry digital converter boxes that aren't expensive.
Most run in the $30-$40 range, so you won't be out alot of money to get one.

I hope this answers your question, and have a good day!

The remote cannot turn the

Hello,

If new batteries did not fix the problem, then it means the problem is either from the remote or the TV.

Remote: Check the remote battery terminal, see if its not rust. Also, disassemble the remote, can check the connection between the terminal and the remote board, see if there is no disconnection of any kind.

If after checking and all seems well, then it means the remote is defective. To confirm, borrow a remote, test it with the TV. If it works, then it means you need to replace your remote. But if the remote you borrowed does not work, then it means the problem is from the TV and not the remote.

TV: There is a sensor in the TV that communicates with the remote. If this sensor is defective, the remote won't communicate with the TV.

The TV sensor might have loosed contact from inside of the TV or it maybe defective and need to be replaced.

So do the above troubleshooting and let me know if the problem is from the TV or remote. If problem is from the remote, you need to do a replacement. But if otherwise, let me knows as well.

Regards.

On/Off from remote does not work

You can go to the following website to download a copy of the service manual for your TV:

http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/17900/Toshiba_32hf72%2032hfx72%2036hf72%2036hfx72.html

It is a multipart RAR archive so you will have to download all of the parts and then use either Winrar or Winzip to unpack it. You will have to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader available on the Adobe site to read the manual.

Page 31
of the manual shows the part that you are looking for, It is about a third of the way down in the second column. Location # KB01, part #23906805, described as IC, REMOTE PHOTO RECIEVER, PIC-TB17. Page 39 in the manual shows you the CONTROL-1 BOARD PD0651. On the left hand upper side of the board the first component is labeled POWER SA05. Directly beneath that part is the KB01, which is the sensor you are looking for. You should be able to order the part from the shop that the repair guy that you mention in your question. Once you receive it, all you have to do is find the location on the parts placement picture in the manual, desolder and remove the old one, and then solder in the new one. You mention that you have some experience in radio/tv repair so I'm assuming that you are okay with that procedure. There are numerous sites all over the web that show and discuss the procedure. If it has been awhile since you've done that type of repair you might want to do a little practicing. Like all electronic parts the sensor is sensitive to heat damage.

Remote controls will intermittently work

Hey, I would definitely recommend trying all the options mentioned above however sometimes it might never work correctly again (the remote control that is) and it might've been a defective remote control to begin with. Anyways, I had a few friends that have been in similar situations, and usually they won't even bother and went on the internet to find a replacement remote control. What they have done and probably what I would do if I was in that situation is head on over to a replacement remote control website like EveryTVRemote.com and look through their directories for that specific model Toshiba 32HFX72, and they should have what you are looking for in stock!

Toshiba 42RV500E sound issue

This is a known issue with this TV. The following might resolve it: Check Mute and Volume: Ensure that the TV is not muted and that the volume is set appropriately. Sometimes accidental button presses can lead to muted sound or low volume. Inspect External Speakers: If you're using external speakers, verify their connections. Loose cables or faulty speakers can cause sound issues. Test Different Inputs: Connect a non-HDMI device (such as a DVD player) to the TV. Observe if the sound distortion occurs. If it doesn't, the problem might be related to the HDMI signal from your Virgin box. HDMI Troubleshooting: If the issue persists with the DVD player over HDMI, consider the following: HDMI Cable: Check the HDMI cable for damage or loose connections. Virgin Signal: Contact Virgin to inspect the signal/lines and replace the box if necessary. Mainboard Replacement (if needed): If the sound distortion persists, it could be due to a faulty sound processor chip on the TV's mainboard. In this case, consider replacing the mainboard. Change batteries on my toshiba se-r0001 remote

  1. Locate the Battery Cover: Look for the battery cover on the back of the remote control. It is usually a small compartment that can be easily opened.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover: Depending on the design, there may be a latch, screw, or sliding mechanism to secure the battery cover. Use your fingers or a small screwdriver to open the compartment.
  3. Remove Old Batteries: Take out the old batteries from the battery compartment. Pay attention to the orientation of the batteries, so you know how to insert the new ones correctly.
  4. Check Battery Polarity: Take note of the positive (+) and negative (-) signs inside the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the new batteries with the correct polarity to match these markings.
  5. Insert New Batteries: Place the new batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring they are properly aligned with the correct polarity. Press them down gently to make sure they are secure.
  6. Replace Battery Cover: After inserting the new batteries, close the battery compartment cover securely. If it has a latch or screw, make sure it is fastened properly.
  7. Test the Remote: Point the remote at the device it controls (such as a Toshiba TV) and test whether it responds to your commands. If the remote is working correctly, you have successfully replaced the batteries.
  8. Dispose of Old Batteries: If the old batteries are no longer usable, make sure to dispose of them properly. Many communities have designated recycling locations for batteries.

Serial numbers don't work Judy https://www.google.com/search?q=A10A13799C3300 They are purely a numerical identifier of when it was made, year, day, number on the shift, whether it Joe or Billy who did final inspection. With a MODEL number I can find them easily with just 'make model manual'.
