Ok, The vertical Ic is IC301 Ta8427K And Capacitors around IC chroma 2.2 uf 50 volts. You will see small red capacitor ( with C302....4 or 5 ) reference. Replaced others capacitors on vertical section 220 uf 35 V or 100uf 35V. I hope this can help you. tv turns its self off i unplug it plug it back in it will flash on not showing picture it u can her it flash on and right back of some times it will not flash in back of tv and i can hit power it will flash and go off every now and then it will come on show picture after being unplugged and plugged back but then shuts off

Hi check is there is any dry soldering in the vertical scanning stage or in the power supply stage. of your tv. If the soldering of the vertical ic is dry( improper spldering contact coused by years of use) then this can happen.Thats why it disappears some time when there is a proper contact comes. You can confirm is it dry soldering by shaking the tv while its working. If the line comes and go off then there is dry soldering in the vertical scanning section. To rectify this you have to oppen your tv And have to resolder the points in the vertical section. Have added the picture, how a dry soldering point looks.

Maybe the problem of your television is loose PCB connection, ethier it is cold solder.It is need to resolder first then if did not work.It is time to replace a leak capacitor at vertical section of the crt board.

Yes...this TV may be repaired. The line you describe is in the center and is horizontal across the TV. You will need to resolder the vertical IC pins. This vertical IC is mounted on a large heatsink. Under the board you will see there are 5 or 7 pins that will have rings around them. Resolder these. And you should replace two or three capacitors that are next to this IC. A bad cap will overheat an IC and separate the solder grounds. If you can find my expertise page on this website, you will see the repair in more detail. The only common problem would be on the Toshiba Remote. Make sure you have the switch on the remote set to "TV' and not Audio, or Video. Beyond that, if you have a digital camera or a cell phone with a camera with a viewing display, point the remote at the camera and push any button. If it is sending IR, you will see the flashing from the remote on your camera/phone display.That will just confirm the remote is sending signals. The only other possibility is that your IR receiver on the TV is bad, This happens, but it's not very common. Hope this helps

According to timewarnercable.com, the codes for a toshiba tv are 074, 168, or 170. If none of these codes work, I suggest you try the code search function. To do this, follow the steps listed below. 1. Turn on the tv 2. Press "select" and "tv" together until the LED blinks twice. 3. Using the keypad on the remote, type in the digits 9-9-1. This will open the "code library." The LED should blink twice. 4. Press "power." 5. Press "channel up" key repeatedly until the tv switches off. 6. The circuit boards need to be re soldered sounds like dry solder joint which breaks connection not a big job and shouldn't take to long.

Some times you can even fix the problem by re-soldering the contacts of the IC- To find the IC follow the 4 wires that come from the Yoke (which is a contained coil of wires slipped over the neck of the picture tube(s)) back to the board. 2 of the wires go to the horizontal o/p and 2 to the Vertical o/p the thinner gauge wires are for the vertical. It sounds like the set has been put into the text mode. This setting is in the CC or closed caption section of the menu. You should be able to access this with the menu button on the front of the set. Turn it off when you get to that section of the menu. This black box is where the "text" for CC would normally be written if your cable service provided it. Thanks
