try unplugging the control panel

the remote must have a menu button. click on menu, and try and search for the picture option. once there, fiddle with the sharpness, contrast and less brightness options.....that should fix it.

It sounds like one of the volume down buttons is stuck in the activate position. The same as if you were holding the down volume button continuously. It could be either the volume down button on the TV or the remote. I would try remove the batteries of the remote then adjust the volume by the TV buttons.


If the volume doesn't go back down then the remote is the problem. In order to fix the remote you may need to take it apart. This is normally easy to do just locate any screws that may be holding the remote together. If you don't see any screws then you will need to pry the two sections apart. Separate the circuit board and rubber buttons and clean them both with some rubbing alcohol and reassemble it. If it still has the volume issue you may need to replace it.

If the problem persists with the remote deactivated then it's the volume button located on the TV. That is a little more difficult. You can try wiggling the button or some canned air (used to clean computer keyboards) to blow it clean. However it may need to be disassembled to gain access to the switches for proper cleaning.

All you need to do now is to buy a new tact switch and replace all of them to resolve the issue. I'm not sure how it looks like the one installed in your unit but you may click this link to buy online. The problem of your tv. is the degauzer. Try to change the location of your tv, and be sure that the surrounding of your tv has no magnetic interference, like speaker.

1st check to see if your remote volume down button is stuck. 2nd do you have wireless internet (router) or any other wireless devices phones,ceiling fans, another Toshiba remote, if so try unplugging them (or remove the batteries if it's a remote) while it's changing the volume one at a time. If a different device makes it stop try changing the channel on it. Also make sure the t.v doesn't have a mind of its own and remove the batteries out of the t.v remote, let it ride for a couple days if it happens without the remote being in play then you know your t.v is acting strange, if it stops then starts back up when you start using the remote again then you know your dealing with a remote issue. Sometimes Freq.'s merge causing remotes/wireless devices to conflict with each other.

You could try a universal remote

I cna see where this can be very fustrating, Allot of users draw there own conclusions without further diagnosing the issue.

1. Did you try new batteries?
2. Did you make suire the frount of the tv is free of debris that might be hampering the infra red signal from the remote?
3. Did you try a universal remote? Did it work

Before you conclude here with me make sure you have done some further testing you might have a bad reciever in the TV and not even know it. I can give you a website that sells a working remote for this tv if I may?

So if not remote works with this then your tv is the issue and not the remote. Of course there are cheaper solutions like universals for under $10 bucks so give them a try as well.
