I replaced the lamp in

check manual or call Sony

lots of optics on projectors have a coating on them that will be ruined if you use any type of cleaners on them

to be safe you could just try to blow dust off or wipe gently with a lens cleaning cloth

good luck!!

Sony VPL-CX6 Projector turns itself off. No image projected.

does the "lamp/cover"-led light up? i had the same thing happening, the lamp either broke or is about to break and the projektor won't turn it on again to protect itself. if its very urgent, open the projector pull the lamp out and put it in again, it might work for 1 or 2 more times, but it is very likely to explode (usually not breaking the projector but for sure not good for it).

good luck!

Hi i ve connect a

Hello. It seems that you have extended the desktop, when you only wanted it to display what was currently displayed on your laptop screen it self. You have two options from windows.

Method 1
You can leave everything set up, and simply click on the title bar, blue portion of open windows, and drag them across the screen as if you were dragging something physically from one side of the screen to the other, the window will continue past the right edge (by default) of the screen and onto your other screen, in this case, the projector. You can open the display properties, Right click desktop > Properties > Settings: and move the white boxes around to make you more comfortable if you would rather drag a window to the left instead of the right, just left-click and drag the 2 box to the left of 1.

That would allow for the least headaches given it is already working for you.

Method 2:
However, there is another option to try, which would be to select Monitor 2 as your primary display. in the same location as eariler, left click on Montior 2 and notice the two check boxes on the middle right. When "Extend my Windows desktop to this monitor" is checked you have an additional option "Use this device as my primary monitor. when you click this depending on which advanced options your manufacture has available, one of two things will happen.

Your projector will now show your desktop when your icons as if it were your laptop screen, and your laptop screen will show a blank desktop area in which you could drag windows over to as mentioned before

OR

Both the laptop screen AND the projector will display the same image.

It is my humble suggestion that you become comfortable left-clicking the title bar of windows and dragging them across the screen, to reduce the amount of hassles in getting method two fine tuned.

Remember that a window can not be dragged if it is Maximized, that is it takes up the entire screen. You must first click the restore button (The button resembling two squares ontop of one another between the Minimize "_" button and the Close "X" button) and then you can freely click and drag windows.

Rember also that the direction in which to drag windows depends on what you see in the Display Properties Settings Tab. Those two white boxes with numbers indicate physical placement of the monitors or "displays" If you are looking at your laptop, with the back of your projector parrallel to your laptop, facing you and it is on the left side of the laptop, you can not drag a window to the left of your laptop screen and have it go to the projector unless you have your monitor positions set up that way in the Settings. For that example, due to the left positon of the laptop, and making it more subconciously simple to use, you would need to left-click and drag box 2 to the left of box one.

Remember that right is default. So you dont have to change anything as long as you remember regardless of where the projector is physically in relation to the laptop, drag your window off the screen to the right.

Also, make sure to take care of the resolution settings for your projector in that box as well, once your comfortable moving windows around, left-click box 2 and adjust the slider for optimal quality.

Let us know if you need anything else.
