Sony VPL-VW100 110-240 volts oulet

You MAY be in luck! There is NO mention of a 220VAC supply for your Sony Projector! However they DO specify a different AC Power Cable/Cord. This means your Sony should work from 100VAC to 240VAC AS IS with the proper connector at the WALL end. NO other transformer should be required... Download your Manual from the Link below and go to page 71. Note that FIVE different cables are specified ~ depending on location... I also suspect you can go to a local TV shop and buy the proper cable OR have them CUT the connector and install the correct type for your location. Power light comes on but when you push to start nothing happens.

I get this and similar questions often. You turn on your light. It makes noise, you can see lights - perhaps even blinking lights - and assume that it must be running.wall light

I have a Sony VPL-ES1.

ensure that the projector goes through the cool down cycle, for example the fans stop running, before you unplug it. Unplugging it will cause it to into power failure mode which will not allow the lamp to turn on until the bulb reaches ambient temperature. it will also extend the life of that very expensive bulb. take the extra time to let it shut down before you unplug it.

The projector will switch on, but not stay on

Hello :

These are the symptoms of overheating problem . You need to check the fans .

Are the input and output vents blocked or obstructed in any way?

Are the filters dirty or clogged? Most manufacturers will recommend filter cleaning on a monthly basis depending on usage

Remove any extension cords, power strips and/or surge suppressors. Many current model projectors will not even try to ignite the lamp if they detect drops or fluctuation in voltage supplied to the unit. This is a safety feature to reduce stress on the lamp.

Trying to connect scart to video input but unit

Ok SCART is meant to be a "Standard" meaning all SCART should be the same, unfortunately they are NOT. Please have a look at the Wiki link below it will explain all. Some SCART plugs do not have all connection wired through, you must ensure your SCART cable has EVERY wire intact, we usually meter out our plugs to check, as we have been caught out too many times, usually the High end, ones are OK

I have a projector (SONY

usually the projector powers and cools down. if you restart it it will open the cover, not projecting anything and after 10 seconds it will close again. this happens if the lamp is shortly before the end of the measured lifetime (no fixed hours) to protect the projector. usually if you take it out once or twice it will work for 1 or 2 more times but the bulb is very likely to explode (not destroying the projector but not good anyways)
