Removal of base

Most LCD HDTV televisions come with the option to remove the base, refer to your manual for proper instructions on removing the base. But make sure the TV is certified for wall mounting before you do anything - some are not certified and will not be wall mountable.

Standby ?? no Power ?? no Working ??

Gruesse ;-)
Power supply failures are too common in later sets and I suspect that is what you have. The supply is normally on a separate board and can be replaced by the owner if you can find one to buy.
Remove the back panel of the set and look for a smaller board with larger parts on it that seems closest to the AC (wechselspanning) input.
If you replace it, do not throw the old one away, look for a repair company, the cost shouldn't be more than 75% of the new one and you will likely need to have a spare.
Viel glueck!

Viewsonic N3000w LCD TV randomly shuts off...

It seems that the power fails quite often with this one burning the Inverter boards transformers. OZ960G chip may not be broken, so try getting a new power from somewhere. Measure the transformers. suppose to be somewhat 5 ohms. tolerance is +-1.5 ohm. of more, replace.

Trying to hook up my PS3 to my Viewsonic N3000W to

Your TV has a DVI input connector, but no HDMI as you noted. Adapters (fondly called "dongles") are available to convert from the DVI connector to an HDMI jack so you can connect your HDMI source. Search for "dvi to hdmi adapter" with your favorite search engine and you will find them.

As for settings, this set has 720p resolution. Make sure your source is set accordingly, and you should be set to get the best quality you can with the connections available.

Please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating if you've found it what you needed, and thanks for asking here!
