How do you get to the bios (f2) does not work

It depends on the machine. Some require you to press F1, others require you to press Delete, and still others require you to press Enter to get to a menu where you can select the BIOS Setup. These three varieties are the most common ones I've seen, but there are still others that have different ways to enter the BIOS - check the manufacturer's Website, the owner's manual, or search it on the Web.

If your machine is telling you that the keystroke is F2 and it's still not working, you may have a bad keyboard, or your USB keyboard may not be recognized until the BIOS option has expired - try a PS/2 keyboard.

Problem installing AVG free: error 0x800736b1

Uninstalling and reinstalling normally works. Do you use a regcleaning program at all. would recommend you do as the good ones (Uniblue suite, Regcure, Regmechanic) clean up your registry and removes invalid reg files. So b4 reinstalling AVG try a recleaner first, then re-install. Also try googling your error number as you are not alone with this prob.
Sorry I cant be anymore help.

Random shut downs

Check the CPU fan it may not be spinning at the full speed or not turning at all. Check that there is not cable that is obstructing the fan blades. When the CPU over heats the machine will shutdown to save it from any damage. Then other thing to check is the power switch make sure that it is not sticky or stuck in. It also could be a memory issue but normally there will be a blue screen fault and audio beeps when you first switch on.

Try these Thanks J

How do I restore from the D;/ partition?

D:/ is typically the CD-ROM drive. If your system is asking you to restore from D:/, it is probably asking you to insert the CD that came with your system in order to restore your system to factory settings.
Please rate,
Thanks!

LAN DRIVER

Here's my post from another thread...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have had this problem with my SysteMax Ascent as well. Not sure if you re-installed your OS or not, but the same will still apply. What is happening is that your OS (assuming Windows) is not recognizing the onboard LAN adaptor, even with it's native drivers, so the driver must be downloaded and installed. But first..

What you will need to do is open up your PC and look on your Motherboard for (what will likely be) a Letter-Number combination that will be large in size. Mine was M7NCD, yours may be different. If yours happens to be M7NCD, then your Motherboard is manufactured by BioStar, and here is their webpage with the download that you will need:
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloads.asp?model=M7NCD%20PRO
It is located under Drivers, and be sure to check to the right of the download link to find which one will be compatible with your Operating System (OS).

If it is different, enter what you see into your favorite search engine, followed by 'drivers'. You should be able to find what you're looking for in the first few results. If not, just keep checking, and if needed, use different words in your search (like lan driver, chipset). A manufacture's website is usually the best result.

Once found, check for compatible OS and install. Your LAN adaptor should work now.

Also, for good measure, check in Device Manager (Start>Right-click properties>Hardware tab>Device Manager) for any exclamation points (black ! in a yellow circle) under Network Adaptors. If there are none, then it worked! If you do see any in a different category (Sound, video, game controllers for example), look on the webpage for any drivers for that category. After I re-installed drivers for the LAN adaptor, I also had to re-install drivers for the onboard sound card as well.

Anyway, hope this helps you! It should, I had the exact same problem :D

Systemax ascent won't stay powered on

I recommend that you replace the PSU, Power Supply Unit with a new one, this is a simple task. Remove the plug from Motherboard remove the four screws from the PSU at rear and get a replacement one say a 450 Watt job. Install and ya be good to go.

My Ethernet cable test normal but I receive an error message that says unable to connect, what does it mean?

Hi Matt, The issue seems to be with the ethernet controller, or the DNS / DHCP service of the computer. Try safe mode with networking and see if that works. you may check the antivirus settings and try a different user profile. if this does not help, then call 1-877-805-1027 for expert help.
