Aiwa NSX-A505 CD Shelf System Questions & Answers
I have a nsx-a508 unit,the 2nd tape deck got stuck
I think I can help you with the tape part, but as for the CD, that's a whole different story.
First, you should reset the unit by holding down the stop button (clear), and then pressing the power button. Everything stored in memory after purchase is cleared, including the radio stations, clock, etc.
Check if deck 1 is now playing.
I had a similar problem with my AIWA NSX-AJ310, and after some digging up, I realised that the belts were busted. They're not hard to replace though, unless you don't trust yourself to replace them. If you don't, let a qualified technician see about that for you.
The CD player in my system has retired also, so, we're in the same boat as with regard to that issue!!
Hope my solution was helpful!!

Dear shelnaaqua,
Please connect the headphone to your system and check the sound quality,If it sound good then the connection of the speakers are not ok. This system has HI & low frequency output. Connect woofer to LOW frequency output and tweaters to HI frequency.

The tray of cds does not work properly, does not
Try pressing repeatedly the eject button while you turn on the unit. If this doesnot work
then it is a mechanically problem in your player .
You need to manually open to take out the cd .
The rubber thread which should be connected to the motor inside the cd player might have moved from its place.
You need to place the rubber thread to proper place.
Also if the belt is slipping, the mech never gets the "drawer closed" signal, and the disk will not spin.
Cassette tape stuck and door won't open.
Ruan, A temporary fix, is to leave the right side panel off, position your latex gloved hand into the back, of the drive, turn softly, with one finger, the drive wheel, and the unit will unlock. You can now remove the tape cassette. Make sure the cassette tape is very, tight prior to installing it..
To complete a repair, takes a while for full explanation. Regards fmauka...
CD changer not playing CD's
If this did not help the problem by cleani9ng the lens, the laser is bad or the spindle moteo is bad. if this unit is over 2 years old, buy a new unit. Good Luck
Aiwa Z-L700 cassette player will not work but CD player is fine. Is there a simple solution please?
The complexity of the solution depends on the problem. The drive belt or pinch roller may be worn or have a hardened surface. If the tape doesn't turn at all or only very slowly in any function, verify that the tape drive motor is running and that the belt is turning the pulley(s). If the tape tends to tangle up, check the pinch roller. Sometimes cleaning the roller with a cotton swab dampened with rubbing alcohol will work, but if it's too hardened, you'll need to use rubber conditioner or replace it.
If nothing at all happens when you select the tape function, there may be an electrical problem such as a dirty contact on the function switch or a broken wire in the tape mechanism.
This is far from a comprehensive repair guide; it only covers the most common issues other than broken plastic parts. "Will not work" is too general to provide more than that. Cleaning the pinch roller and its drive pin can be done through an open cassette door; everything else most likely requires taking stuff apart, observing operation and perhaps making voltage measurements.
