The iva-c801 is NAV READY... meaning it needs the optional NAV unit... it is not built into the radio.
The NAV unit is an OPTIONAL piece from alpine. If you do not have a seperate brain for the NAV installed
SEE THIS LINK - you do not have this feature.
If you have the NAV unit...(p27 of the manual states:)
If an optional Alpine Navigation System is
connected to the IVA-C801/CVA-1006, some of its
functions can be controlled from the IVA-C801/
CVA-1006.
The functions and display indicators available will
vary depending upon the Navigation System
connected. For details, consult your Alpine dealer.
1 Press the
SOURCE button. The main menu
screen appears on the display.
2 Rotate the rotary encoder and select "NAVI,"
then press the rotary encoder to execute the
selection.
The Function Guide display changes to show the
same button names as those for the remote
control supplied with your navigation system.
