I believe your problem is not the tv but the way you have the system hooke up. Can you tell us how you have routed your cables.

Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.

1. To use the override code:
2. Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.
3. Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.
4. Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.
5. Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code.

No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired. Good Luck

Not sure if you tried this yet, but you have to set them both up. Once you have the codes working for the TV. Then set up the codes for the DVD as if it was a stand alone component. I didn't have codes but it took a while to do it manually but it worked.

It looks like an IC has failed on your TV.
The IC is the vertical amplifier and needs to be replace to restore the functionality of your TV.

Here are the values:
RY04 >>>> 68 ohms >>>> 1 Watt
RY04A >>> 47 ohms >>>> 0.5 watt
RY02A >>> 330 Ohms >>> 0.25 Watt.

All resistors should be 5% tolerance.

Wire wound 190 ohm 10 watt should do the trick if that's all that's wrong with the set...accordianman

According to Apex, you can disable the parental lock using the following information.
