The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it is dead.Tv have colors R,G,B lines mis alignments,have shadows pictures or 3D picture look alike?Yes the tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.These parts,must be replace on the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Go into your main menu and scroll down to picture. Next scroll down to convergence press select. A white cross should appear on your screen the object is to converge all the crosses into one untill all the crosses appear as one white cross. The onscreen directions will tell you exactly how to do this. Next press continue and several little white crosses will appear across your screen. Do the same for each one of these white crosses. This should solve your problem.

U have the early warning problems of the convergence problems.Do the manual or auto convergence adjustment until,u can't do it anymore.Replaced all the parts,that make the convergence board to work.

maybe the degausing coil is defective or your tv is de magnetise or the color control is defective. if no just consult your problem to APEX service center near you

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. likely a convergence failure. if you push the button over and over, sometimes it will throw the set out so far that it cannot align anymore.. the sensors need to see the lines to do the auto alignment. you probably need new convergence ICs, repair is tricky and requires soldering. estimate = 200-350 $

You have a convergence issue, first see if they will move manually in your menu, they should be able to move up down left and right, and if not this is when two chips labeled STK392-xxx Failed. They can be located by finding the largest heat sinks in the unit.

Along with the possibility being a open resistor and or open fuse in the convergence circuit . All of the resistors around these chips should be checked pay attention to the ones that are standing up and they all should read low ohms, If they are in the k ohms they are probably open which is bad ,This is a tricky repair, if you have Never done this repair I don't suggest it friend.

This is a common problem. Its called a convergence failure.

Here is the fix for this problem ;
V502 (2sa1015y ) =nte290A ,V502A (2sc3852)=nte56 both def. use all parts supplied w/nte 56.Replace both N504 & N505 (stk392-040 )
You will likely need to call a good TV Tech to do this repair.

I'm not to sure what exactly is wrong with your tv, but I do know that it is NOT the convergence board. I have the same problem with the same model and was told to replace the board. I waisted $85 bucks. The only other thing that I can figure is it must be the STK's inside the TV. If you fix yours please repost and let me know so i can fix mine.

Since the set seems to recover for short periods of time, it suggests bad connections rather than defective components. If you have a local service shop that can "resolder" a number of poor solder joints for not too much $$,. then this should be cheap. It is unlikely that a board needs replacing although it is possible. The static in the channels needs further investigation. If it is the same on all channels, there is likely a problem with the tuner. If it is localized to a group of channels, then check all your cable connections. A bad ground will show up as static in some channels with others appearing normal.

Let your local TV repairman check it. Don't touch anything inside it nor open it.

I've seen this problem several times on this model. Your TV is going into shutdown because the HV block is defective. You can take out the Anode lead and isolate it carefully then turn the set on. If it now turns on, and stays on, then the high voltage block is bad. Getting this part is another, bigger problem.

Your APEX tv has a convergence problem which is fairly common.

Check with www.TvRepairKits.com. they may have a kit for your model.

here is a simple test to know whether to call a technician,...first, check all connection including the antenna or cable lines to your unit.if not, tap the unit for 2 to 4 times.while tapping watch what happens to the picture.if the unit turn on or becomes okay, i suggest to call a tech.it needs resoldering or something inside has loosed contact.
