20 Most Recent Sennheiser PXC 450 Headphones Questions & Answers

I have found this problem on several PXC 450 headsets and it can be solved by resoldering the bypass switch pins on the circuit board. We use about 25 pairs of these headsets and although they are excellent they can suffer from dry joints mainly on the switch but I have found a surface mount resistor in one case to be the problem. To get to this board you need to unclip earpad on side containing switch then undo a number of philips head screws to reach the circuit board under the speakers then unscrew circuit board resolder and re assemble. Good luck.

The bypass switch developes dry joints after some time. The earpad has to be removed and the speaker plate unscrewed and lifted back. The cct board connected to the switch will now be exposed so the switch legs can now be resoldered. Reassemble and you should be good to go.
