You should first check if in your Device Manager your Network Card is being recognized, and make sure there is no errors (a yellow triangle would be displayed). If it is there, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. You can also go into your BIOS setup when starting up the computer, and make sure it's enabled. If none of this works, to get your WIFI Fob working, you probably need to disable your Network Card first in the BIOS before your Fob will work. Hope this helps.

They are not like a 3.5 hard drive or a 5.25 dvd rom for PC which are a national standard. For the most part there are two differences in height. One is a slimline, one is a super slimline. I have seen people who have the rom sticking out because it was made for the company. So what you have to do is remove it and measure it. Now comes the part of finding one, then you have to make sure the dimensions, and the interface are the same, most are old IDE. I would guess the drivers are either not installed, or the wrong ones are installed. Go to the Acer website and select your model and download the current drivers from there and install.

I suggest that you can use the other method to eject: press start and go to my computer, select the disk drive and you should see an eject option in the menu bar.Remember that disk drives are subject to computer admin and do not respond quickly to a button press, especially if a disk process in taking place...

Look at the dvd tray there should be a small pin hole. Use a paper clip and push it into the pin hole and the dvd tray should pop open.

You did not say how long you have had the computer. I can assume more than three months since they told you the battery was out of warranty. I am also not sure how "computer savvy" you are. Anything I say here is not meant to be insulting, so please do not tale any offense if I ask things or state things that seem overly obvious to you. Batteries are fickle things. They can sometimes act bad when they aren't. Example: When you first buy the machine, you are supposed to let it plugged in for at least 8-12 hours to ensure a full battery charge before using it on the battery. Some folks do this, many don't, either because they are impatient or don't take the time to read the instructions. An initial short charge can affect the entire battery's lifespan. Alos, the "battery meter" that shows charge level on most machines is an estimate of power in the battery, not necessarily the actual power in the battery. If you use the machine mostly on AC power, and don't use the battery often, then the battery gets only short, minimal discharge/charge cycles. This gives the battery and the "meter" a false sense of battery life which can result in the appearance of a weak or dead. battery. That being said, here id what you need to try to see if this can be salvaged. Unfortunately I am not Windows 7 savvy, but you can use the HELP feature to access and perform what I am saying and then attempt it. In the POWER MANAGEMENT area under the battery, you need to disable all warnings/shutdowns for the battery.
