Integra DTR 7.8 - front

Hi Jzargo,

I would just like to ask if your system's display on the front of the unit wont light up? If the unit appears to be working fine but just no display, it might caused by defective resistor in the display. If your system is still in warranty, I recommend to have the service center replace the defective resistor in the display for free.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

When i turn the reciever

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.

I have seen this type of things a few times before in my shop, What has unfortunately happened is that when the power went Off/came back On, it has "Spiked" the Computer Controlling circuitry internally.
Sometimes, if possible, one may be able to "Reset' the unit. But, usually, serious damage has been done. I have given you a link to a manual so you can check.

Doing a job for a friend. Reconnecting all his

if you have everything connected properly, then it wont necessarily utilize ALL of the speakers, unless you have a true 7.1 signal coming in. is it using optical or coaxial? make sure that the options on the receiver are set right......the rears on 5.1 and 7.1 dont work unless they are told to by the receiver....and the signal coming in from the external source ( dvd player, ps2, ps3, xbox....) tell the receiver what it is going to need, in order to utilize the full signal. everything is labeled, and it sounds like you know what you're doing, when it comes to hooking this up, which is always good. it sounds to me, like something isnt configured properly, so i would start there. it may take a while, but you get the idea.....

My Integra RC-585m remote will not connect to my DTR 6.5 Integra receiver

Hi, Please confirm that the remote has power and move closer to the receiver and attempt to use the remote again. If the remote works when you're closer, then this means that your batteries needed to be updated. If the remote does not work even within 1 foot of the receiver, please clean the section of the receiver that receives the remote signal. You can then restart your receiver and attempt to use the remote again. If this fails, then you can attempt to re-program your remote to the receiver once more. Otherwise, you might need to work with Integra to further troubleshoot the possible source of the issue. Thank you.

My integra av receiver model no DTR-70.1 amplifier displays but no sound what could be the problem?

http://www.integrahometheater.com/faqs.php Check the connections and try a master reset? Perform a master reset. To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode.
