first off you need to find out if your subs are 2 ,4,6 ohm . then check what ohm your amp will run if it is cutting off it's pulling to much power or it's over heating it.there are certen ways to hook up your subs.

1. The battery is 12 volts and Ohms has nothing to do with your amp installation.
2. Was the amp running and got hot? Many times an amp will go into "thermal mode" when used for an extended amount of time and need to cool down but I assume if you are trying to hook it up you were not using it.
3. You need to check the ground wire real well. A loose ground will cause protect mode.
4. Recheck the speaker wires and their connections. If they cross this to can cause protection mode.
5. This is a 4 Ohm amp, are your speakers 4 ohm or lower> If not then you may be running to low of a load to your amplifier.
6. I always remove everything from the amp first and power it on and then add wires and see where which connection throws the amp into power mode.
7. Check the fuse as well but if the LED is on chances are your fuse is good.
8. If you check all of the items I listed and the amp still goes into protect mode then your amp is bad.

Depends entirely on the output impedance of the amplifier and of course if it matches your loudspeakers.

Your 8ohm channel is fried why happened was you ran 2 12s in an 8ohm load and turned it down to 2ohms the speakers was pulling all the power and that made it over heat and when it over heated it fried you're amp. It ain't no good you can't fix that

Bad connection inside either on a connection or on the PCB itself.

When an amplifier causes trouble or otherwise stops working, it is necessary to eliminate external possibilities such as a short circuited output. If nothing external is causing the problem, unless you have a good friend who is an electronics engineer, it will be a repair shop task...
