The brush roll works for a second than red light goes on and it stops. No obstructions to stop the rotation

First make sure that there is no threads wrapped around the roller brush at each end. Next place a couple drops of motor oil in the crack at each end of the roller brush to lubricate the bearings. Do not over oil or you will get oil on your carpet. Now try starting the vacuum on the kitchen floor.. If it still shuts off, then the motor windings are shorted out, meaning the motor is defective and needs replaced. If the vacuum cleaner costs about $ 100.00 , you would be better off buying a brand new vacuum cleaner, rather than replacing the motor.

My Shark rotator is very hard to push at times, easy at other times. What makes it hard to push and how do I fix it?

Does it have a "brushes" lowering/higher switch? Normally due to brushes being too low in particular on deep pile carpets?? check the actual fixings for the rotating brushes are ok and the brush not simply need "clicking" back into place?

The brush roller has stopped spinning and all the hair has been removed, how do I fix it?

Hey this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum, If there's no noticeable debris on the brush roll try manually rotating it to help unearth any hidden clogs behind it. Take note of the condition of the bristles while you're doing this. If they look worn down, or loose then its time to replace your brush roll. Check your vacuums belt as well. Overtime your belt will stretch and loose resistance. This could lead to the brush roll no longer turning. Be sure your belt is on nice and tight to ensure optimal performance. Your belt should be changed every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. The brush roller has stopped spinning and all the hair has been removed. How do I fix it?

Hey Kathy this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum, Chances are if you've cleaned out all of the debris by your Sharks brushroll and its still not spinning that means there's an issue with your belt. On average you should change your belt every 3 months. After a while the belt will loose tension and stretch and in most cases the brush roll will stop spinning completely.
