First make sure that there is no threads wrapped around the roller brush at each end. Next place a couple drops of motor oil in the crack at each end of the roller brush to lubricate the bearings. On average you should change your belt every 3 months. After a while the belt will loose tension and stretch and in most cases the brush roll will stop spinning completely. i think the coil lamination have got shorted or there may be any shorting of circuit. you should get it repaired without anymore use.
