Reading from the tag attached to my original CyberHome car adaptor included with the CH-LDV712:

I don't know where the Radio Shack guy gets 10VDC from.

if there is any out put check it in external tv or monitor or lcd
if it is ok on external monitor your player lcd got problem 1- hi voltage that connect to lcd Fluorescent (has 2 wire)
2 - or Fluorescent is broken

I got an idea. Why don't you take into Best Buy and have the Geek Squad look at it. See if it's the player of find the button to change the display were looking for. They can show you where it is.

Sometimes portable DVD players allow you to switch to a secondary TV for playback. When this happens it disables the primary screen on the portable DVD player.

Thats usually the culprit as to why that happens.

If you have that feature on your portable DVD player you should check it out.

If you look very closely, is there an extremely dark picture, or a solid black screen? If it's an extremely dark picture, you just need a new backlight. If it's a black screen, you either have a bad connection (broken, shorted or unplugged cable), or need a new LCD. Let me know, and we'll go from there.

Romy... there are "membrane switches" located behind the front panel. Sometimes they go bad or get dirty and won't work. MOST times these are a SINGLE panel with many switches. Often they are a pain to GET and install... Only the right one will work! Anthony
