If you want to make it like the very first day you bought it their should be a restore partition on the HD. You need to visit the HP website for detailed directions. Just remember you will loose all your data.
No audio out
Make sure that you do not have the mute on. That is actually one of the most common fixes I run into when people complain about no audio. Plug in different speakers or a set of headphones to make sure that it is not your speakers that are bad. You can also check the device manager in windows to make sure that there are no devices showing as not installed.

Power up computer...hear the windows jingle but the screen is grey
Try connecting an external monitor and see if that gives you video - if that works, your laptop screen may have gone bad and need replacing. If it does not work, check that you are not running in too dark a screen or the wrong mode. I dont know specifically which HP key code changes this but there should be pictures on your "F" keys to indicate this. Remember to push down the"Fn" key at the same time.

Hard drive not found hp pavilion ze5730us
If this machine is running XP, beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you get a newer machine. The hard drive may be failing, or just the OS or hard drive corrupted. You could try this... Pull the hard drive out, and use a USB Hard Drive Adapter to connect the hard drive to a friend's computer, and save all the personal files (documents, pictures, etc.) you can to a folder on the friend's computer or an external hard drive.
How do i erase a forgotten password on my laptop please so i can sell it.THANK YOU
This is usually difficult to do on modern laptops. You can try various CMOS password wipe programs but usually the password is stored in EEROM/Flash these days. You could try disconnecting the CMOS battery but it means taking apart the system. If the password protection could be easily bypassed, it wouldn't be much use would it!
How can I get access to BIOS?
Most of the time it is shown on the screen, but F10 is also one of the favourites. It also should be in the manual.
Reformat partition hard drive
To return your HD to the factory settings do a full system recovery using the recovery disks (CD or DVDs) you made when you first had the computer. This will return the whole computer to its as-shipped state: you will lose all your data and any software that you have installed. This will retain/re-install the original partition structure on your hard disk. To do this process you may also use the recovery partition on the hard disk.
To completely reformat the hard disk, in which case you will lose everything on it
press the start button at the bottom left of screen,
R-click on computer, and select manage. The computer management window will open. From the left pane click on disk management under 'storage'. A new pane will open, with information on the different disks in your computer. Select the disk on which the partition to be formatted is located. R-click on the partition to be formatted, and choose format, and ten work through the format wizard. (see
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-format-hard-disk-partition#create-format-hard-disk-partition=windows-7)
When you R-click on the partition other options will appear will appear as well as format, choose the appropriate option to create a new partition, merge, etc, By successively working your working your way through the partitions you may format/merge some while retaining others.
