high speed jet in carb is blocked

if gas is making it to you muffler that mean it getting way to much gas, but you would a ssume it would flood out. it could just be running out of your carborator and down the inside and seeming like its from the exhaust. end result check to make sure your carb floats are at the correct height or the motor get to much or to little of fuel

you can find almost any file if you look in free pdf files all you have to do is google it. good luck worse case go to your local library.

yes you would have to use a series of wires and a key ingnition route it to the starter and make sure you ground the starter as well.

Your idle speed is to high. These have (most of them) a wire wound round a drum for the clutch (called a bendix clutch) and it is very positive. so your idle must be real slow not to damage. it. If the engine will not run slow it's most likely problem is mixture adjustment after that would be the bottom seal.

I can not find you a manual for free download. All links I found have been removed, due to Briggs is discontinuing the Outboard production and sells of the motor. Then two Deep Cycle Gel Batteries, one for the marine electronics, fish finder etc, and another that powers the front bow mounted Trolling motor. You will find them in the deck lockers. Open them, release any tie downs, undo the cables and lift them out for Winter storage. I keep mine in my garage and I put them on a battery minder for 24 hours once a month. check water flow pump fail -corrosion--debris blockage---check fluids--gear oil etc

Commonly caused by clogged air filter. Also suspect buildup in exhaust mixing elbow. Smoke will build up carbon deposits over time and clog them. What color is the smoke? unburnt fuel will smoke and cause heat. Could be a fuel pump or dirty/bad injector not atomizing fuel correctly. If smoke is steam.... If there isn't proper flow or there is air in raw water system, the air hits heat exchanger and immediately turns to steam. Will result in overheating.

It's electronic fuel injection so it needs power to run. Mercury is usually a yellow wire from stator that goes to a voltage regulator that charges battery when running. Good luck!!

check continuity on float switch to assure it's working. do you have it wired like this?
