Bose Companion 2 Computer Speakers Questions & Answers
How does the Bose companion 2 come apart?
6 retaining plastic clips. Just opened these myself. Use a screwdriver at the retaining clip locations and turn it sideways; pops the front off, then there's just foam and the speaker inside.
How to open it?
The guy before me is just speaking nonsense. Sonically welded? lol I just opened these today. There are 6 retaining clips; 2 on each side, 1 on top, 1 on bottom. Put a screwdriver in the seam, turn it sideways; try to put a cushion between it and the plastic to not damage the plastic. Simple as that.

Hello
You have only two speakers with you to be connected. There is no surround or subwoofer. So connect the output of computers' FRONTL/R to the speaker system. The amp inside the speaker system will do the rest. OK.
MY BOSE COMPANION 2 COMPUTER SPEAKERS STOPPED
The coil inside the speaker is very tiny and if it loosens contact to main line to the jack, it may have open or short wirings inside. Or that one of the lines have shortages. If you can use a voltmeter tester, you can check if it has open or short wirings. If it's just both, then you can change the wire from the speaker to the jack. But if it stills hums, then there must be loose connection inside the speaker, so you need to replace the speaker with the same wattage and diameter available in electronics stores.
Thanks.
Blessings.
Bose COMPANION 2 Speaker case disassembly?
yes..the only solution is to pop the front panel with screwdriver...to do this more efficiently (without breaking the front panel) ...first insert the thin screwdriver in the gap in front lanel on side wall...and rotate the screw driver 90 degree..this will pop that side....repeat it on other sides too...i did it last night only.....
my problem was that when i dropped the speaker....its magnet fell down...and its no longer working...i am trying to find another broken bose speaker to replace mine...from e bay,,but no luck till now :(
