look for an audio output on your tv, perferrably a digital output. the tv's hdmi wont work because its an input, not an output. if your tv does not have an audio output, you are out of luck, and will only get surround sound with dvd's/blue rays...

you have got a shortcircuit this can be caused by a bare wire earthing out on some part of your computer trace all power leads to the fuse and beyond the fuse and dust causes static electricity which causes a computer to overheat and many unforseen problems try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer

Route the television audio directly through a stereo receiver.
