I am having intense troubles with startup repair
I can only tell you what my action would be on a system, you say its been in trouble for a while my thought would be a virus or hard drive fault. During boot up a system scans a file to organise how it will start this is read over and over again, over time it geats larger (with software, settings etc). If a hard drive start to fail this can lead to bad start ups, Windows tries its best to correct but errors creep in until it is unable to start through corruption of data.
A virus can also do this by starting up during boot and create a similar situation XP and Vista were very prone and I have seen several that "created double identities" from virus action until it became so confused after about 6 months or so froze.
Windows is built different but can still suffer to a less degree.
My initial action would be to remove the hard drive and run it up on an external usb set up on another laptop with Win 7 if you can get this to check it or use disk check tools on the web there are a few, plus run a antivirus program. While its running listen in to the drive gently hold it to your ear, if its grumbly or has like a clock tick sound it may well be faulty.
To copy a drive I use EaseUS free which I have found copes to a better degree with sick drives, you refit your drive, copy the program to a CD and boot up your system with it, a new drive is attached via the usb and follow instructions. If the drive is bad it may take hours if it works, on one I did which got red hot I left the cover off blowing cold air onto it.
If you do get it to boot up again run an antivirus with every feature on it has plus I use Malwarebytes free there are others but I have found this is good. After that run (MS) sfc (system file checker) and scan/check disk in full surface test mode, all this could keep it busy for several days. Do these before you use it and turn off any wi-fi links to stop any downloads.
I am sure there are other people who have their own ideas which are also valid but this is what I would do if it did not start.
You have to eliminate virus or drive errors before you can move on or things just get worse.
Hope this helps...........
I am having intense issues with startup repair
Hello. you can go to Programs and Features from the Control Panel and start deleting (uninstalling) all the tool bars and junk programs that are on your computer. That would make a difference but if I were you I would start backing up all the pictures, documents and anything else important to you. Depending on how much data you need to remove from your computer will determine If you want to use discs or an external hard drive. Then you can use your recovery discs and format your hard drive. Good Luck

I have acer aspire 5551 , my laptop battery
Hi, Your battery needs to be calibrated, what you will need to do is charge the battery fully or until it can not charge more, drain the battery completely then recharge to full, doing so while letting your computer recognise and mark the full point and the empty point... the process depends on the version of windows you have and also if you have a bundled tool or a program that does this for you, search your laptop installed programs or check in your power options. vista is the only operating system I am aware of that does not have a built in tool, others should have it, just follow the tool instructions and you should be all set, if you can not find the tool or have vista let me know... Best of Luck
I want to record songs on audio cd
If what you're doing is legal, then you just need to rag and drop* the songs from the website to CD.*not supported on most websites.Or just buy/download them.
My computer shows the message unmountable_boot_volume and doesn't start properly how can i fix it?
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.
CHARGING POINT BROKEN ON ACER ASPIRE
Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then -The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty.Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.
