TIMER WONT TURN OFF
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand the timer won't turn off, on you Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FRA256ST2. AC does not start
I just bought this unit today an I'm having the same problem as you
Air conditioner has loud hollow sound
After mine set up, I turned it on and it made a steady clanking sound, turns out there is black foam that is supposed to be glued behind the cooling fan and it had come undone and was hitting the fan. Slide the unit out of its shell and reach your hand in there and see if anything has come loose. (the fan towards the rear of the unit) good luck.
The unit is only 4 months old. bought from lowes
Sears sells fridgidair parts. Go to sears .com under there appliance parts. You should
Find the part you need. You might want to check to make sure the sensing bulb for the
Thermostat is in front of the cooling coil just behind your air filter. If it not located properly
It can't properly sense the air temp. And may not shut down .
Our 4 month old Frigidaire
A dirty or clogged air intake filter will prevent the unit from turning ON, as a safety feature. If that isn't of doesn't solve the problem. Contact Frigidaire 1-800-944-9044. As you unit is still under 100% warranty at this point. They will repair it or replace it at their option. Don't do anything to the unit, that could possibly void the warranty.

What is the serial number for fra256st2 frigidaire
Unfortunately, there is no way to know the individual serial number of each Frigidaire AC unit, as they are all different. Even the manufacturer, couldn't tell you the exact serial number from the model number, alone.
Hope this helped answer you question and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Hello
The control panel sensor is bad.I would take the unit back asap. There should be a 1 year warranty on the unit.
I cant take the front and back off of the air
The plastic front must come off. Usually the screws to take the front off are behind the front grille of the plastic front by the filter. The unit will probably slide out of the case when you get the plastic front off, but at times they will put a shipping screw through the back side of the case on a lower corner into the unit. This screw(s) will also have to come out.
