I have a Yammaha MM6

If this s a common known problem, perhaps there is a recall on the instrument. Contact Yamaha directly to inquire.

The LCD has lines on

The defect is likely failure of the LCD module and the connections to the glass sandwich... it is likely fatal to the module... If you are adept with tools a bit, you can probably replace it yourself... You have to go slow and be careful to keep track of where stuff goes.

One has to be real careful to not damage the ribbon cables that connect between the upper and lower shell. I suggest having two people present to handle the shell when opening it. Have a good work surface and organizer cups or bins to keep screws seperate. There will be a LOT of screws from the back to remove to seperate the halves. DO NOT force anything.

You can probably order the part... Call Yamaha America Music support and ask for parts dept to order the part... I suspect it is a bit pricey. While your at it, inquire if they can sell you a service manual for the keyboard... they used to do this for $15 and you could get one with your order. The manual for the Tyros I got is very complete showing all the internal and assembly procedure.

Keys C anf F# don't work in all octaves. Could you tell me what the problem could be?

it could be a problem with the key scanning circuit not getting the signal from the keybed. it could be caused by a bad connection, for example on a ribbon cable between the keybed and the logic board. one "simple" thing to try is to carefully open the keyboard up and see if there are cables going from the keybed to a logic board that could be unplugged and replugged. sometimes oxidation builds up on connections and the act of unplugging and plugging back in will scrape the contacts. i had a similar problem to yours on a roland, but it took fixing a bad connection to a surface mount resistor that was part of the keyscan circuit - this required a schematic and component layout from a service manual to solve. it also required the use test equipment and some careful soldering. be careful if you go inside, you don't want to make things worse and it needs to be properly reassembled, that is if you need to hand this off for professional repair. another consideration is you don't want to discharge static electricity off your finger into the delicate electronics. 50,000 volts can easily fry circuits - even if a discharge is lower, you begin to compromise the electronics which would make it fail sooner. bench techs use anti-static straps for good reason. the bottom line is, with some careful precautions you could get lucky and fix this yourself, IF the problem is that simple (and mine was not that simple.)

The volume level from MY MM6 has suddenly dropped

I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it: 1- Lay the MM6 upside down, remove the screws, open the back panel. 2- On your right side (the Volume PC board section), you will see component stand up (2 of them had 3 legs each, one of them is had more than 3 legs don't remember exactly) but 3 of them all had metal finish on their back. There are look like Power Transistor ( I do not have a schematic to be sure) but when these part get warm or hot (volume is only decrease when MM6 had been Turn-On for awhile), caused the volume to decreased. 3-Go to Radio Shack or other electronic stores, buy 3 HEAT SHRINK or you can make them your self (find- google to see what it look like, marterial...etc); 4- Use small screws and nuts, install these HEAT SHRINK into these 3 component then they will help these 3 components to stay cool all the time, therefore it will fixed the Volume decrease problem. 5- Yamaha should put HEAT SHRINK into these part when they designed.

My Yamaha mm6 doesn't work

There is probably a setting that is wrong. The left channel is the default for mono operation. Look in your user manual regarding "PAN" which controls the output going side to side. You MAY be "panned" clear to the right. When you plug into the left, it is the default so in spite of being panned right, they would send signal to the left IF nothing is plugged into right.

Hi, i can't get

Please read page 63 of your user manual. The key word here is "PAN" under thee "MAIN VOICE" which controls the balance between left and right. I know that the user manuals are often like reading a foreign language, but they are often the only method we have to learn about the thousands of settings in these synths...

Sometimes the middle C sounds like if it was hit

The key contacts are dirty. These contacts are conductive rubber "pills" (black) in silicone rubber domes. There are TWO per key and when you press a key, one hits first then the second. The time between this is measured by the processor and generates a "velocity" number which controls the loudness as would a real piano being sensitive to the rate/speed which you hit a key.

Unit has to be dis-assembled and the keys taken off and the contacts AND the CIRCUIT BOARD TRACES they press onto using ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q TIps. Do ALL the contacts while you have it apart. Be VERY careful to not damage the ribbon cables tying the top of the case to the bottom AND document which screws go where as there are usually several different threads and lengths..

Will a midi interface allow me to play downloaded music on a yamaha clainova 305

Yes, with some preparation. The music will have to be in a standard MIDI file format or a format that results in standard MIDI over USB output when "played" by computer software or an external sequencer. Within the software you will probably need to create a new "instrument" if there is not already a template for the CVP 305, otherwise the tracks and sub channels in the MIDI file will be patched to GM, probably not what you want to hear.
