Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Hitachi 50 inch plasma tv has no red color
I ran into Bee Hive of problems and don't know where to start. I have read problems that are related to the convergence , one definitely a fan motor. A couple sounded like the color IC on the CRT board. Some sound like bad caps in the power section. Some sounded like a picture tube alignment problem. The one that wouldn't turn off sounds like a relay stuck or burned closed. As I read down I noticed some problems that would have to be done in a well equipped shop.. I really don't know where to start. If someone will give me a specific problem I will try to solve it. Reading down I got confused, is this all one TV?

Shadow on Flat Screen TV
Projection TV correct? This may take some work but it is common for a spec of dust to settle onto the Mirror inside the TV, The back side of the TV screen or onto the Lens from which the Video image is projected. Some TVs have ports that allow you to access the inside of the TV from the side, others you must remove the screen.
This is not something to do every day or every week and it will not improve the picture. You only do this when you notice that it is dirty. Any more than that and you yourself will create a bigger problem. ONLY LIGHTLY DUST the screen. Soaps, water and windex will leave streaks, damage the screen and cause more trouble.
Projection TVs are the eqivalent of a big flashlight showing onto a wall. Put you hand in front of the light and you get a shadow.
Inside you TV there is a light (the TV picture) that bonces of a mirror attached to the inside of the back of the TV. The light reflects off the mirror onto the back of the screen. You view this refelected image from the front. Spiders commonly make webs inside the TV that appear in the picture. Dust Bunnies may get blown into an area and become stuck in the way. Sometimes a lite tap, shake or blow may remove this also.
Hitachi Faces Dallas Federal Lawsuit Over HD Television Defects
Have an extended warranty like me, well even though i did purchase one I still am pissed. I paid $3300 for this set 60v500a and like I suspect many the red cloud just crept up on them until it became a real nusiance. I called Hitachi first but they were unwilling to help at all and tried to tell me it was the bulb, thank god for the internet or I might of believed them (-$400 out of pocket because warranty doesn't cover bulbs). Went to the lawfirms website and sent an email to add me to the many names in the lawsuit hopefully will hear back from them. Was pissed to find out that the repair shop is going to replace the light engine with a refurbished part. Didn't buy a refurbished TV but get a refurbished part well will be keeping a close eye on any red clouds in the future considering I still have a year and a half left on the warranty and will be complaining of any problems. For all others I will be asking the repair man if this is a common problem to share with others. I hope the lawyers hold Hitachi responsible for this, got a lotta nerve selling defective junk to consumers but corporate greed knows no bounds i guess.
I broke my lcd screen of my32inctv can i order how much
It will be more better to buy a new TV, than trying this TV repaired. The screen itself will cost around 2/3rd of the total cost of the new TV. Just think about the total expendature that you will have, including repair charge.
