How do i solve my problem car won t start.

Which year Hilux is this? The newer models are using an ECU which controls the injection. There are quite a number of different inputs made by various sensors to the ECU, which calculates the correct amount of diesel to be injected. If any of these sensors are faulty or not giving a reading, it wont inject the diesel, causing it not to start. In this event it will be better to have it plugged to an OBD reader to point you in the right direction.

Leak on top of diff, seems like a overflow safety stub? Was there too much diff oil put in and then now it outomatically pushes out there on top? what damage could it cause if any?

Hi, There should be a square sunken hole which is on the front of the diff, This is the proper level for oil in the diff. Remove that & catch the oil coming out into a vessel as this should not be the amount of oil your stating is in the diff. That hole you mention is a air pressure hole for the diff, there should be no damage if you do as above quickly. Please leave me feedback, best wishes, Malcolm Campbell.

3.4l V6. Can the 4l V6 connect to the bell housing, and are the electrics compatible?

No the electronics are not compatible. If you are replacing the engine use only the identical engine (out of a Hilux) as is in the Hilux now. Otherwise you will have numerous expensive problems to deal with and I am guessing that you want a straight forward and inexpensive engine change.

While driving on dirt raods the radio in my Hilux, 2013 model, changes channel on its own. Dealer told me the battery may be low. They are no help.

Hi,this type of radios with their batterys cause lot of headake:-)Where the fake AC is the knobs that say driver and passenger are actually screws,so you have to unscrew them and you will be able to locate and replace the battery as well.Hope this helps

How much engine oil do I put in a toyota hilux 2.5 d4d?

HI,the 2,5l engines takes about 5l oil,but i would start to pour about 4l and then topping it up gradually while checking the oil level.Good luck.

Make sure you are using the oil recomended by the manufacturer, and dont forget to change the oil filter and the air filter as well, that sometimes can make a big difference.

My right indicator light goes on when I switch on the head lights and then the indicator does not work on my Toyota Hilux 2002

If it's the Hilux Diesel Motor, check your bulbs. Thats usually why if your bulb is not working, its not running its revolution. Bulbs are connected on one line circuit so if a bulb is burnt, it will interrupt the circuit. If that's not the case, than you may have to check all your connectors. Also check your fuses.

Why does my toyota hilux d4d 2008 have a hard "clap" sound when chaning gears, releasing the clutch?

hard to be sure with out hearing the noise, two things I have come across in the work shop . Loose or broken engine mount. Or broken springs in the clutch driven plate. a worn throw out bearing can make a noise when the clutch is in use.

Car won't start appears flat battery then starts normal

#1 problem:Corrosion at battery terminal connections. Ground,too!#2 problem:Probable bad starter.Diagnostic aid: have a buddy help.Locate starter on engine.have your buddy turn the ignition key to the START position when it just clicks.LEAVE the key in that position while you tap on the starter with a steel rod,re bar, long 3/8 " extension. If the starter cranks the instant the starter is tapped, the brushes inside the starter are burned and the starter should be replaced. The "tap" jars the brushes into good contact and the starter motor turns. "Farm boy" diagnostic works! PS: Thanks for an accurate description of the SYMPTOM. So many people skip the symptoms. When it happens, what happens and when it's hot or cold. A deaf mechanic is useless. Blind ones are great!

Horn not working on 1996 hilux.d fuse but still not working?

check to make sure you have power going to horn with test light on one wire then earth second terminal on horn this will check that your new horn is working first then if it does remove steering wheel and you will see a pin that rubs against the back side of the steering wheel short this to earth if your horn works it would normaly be because this pin has worn out and is not touching the steering wheel, this can be repaired by adding a good size of solder to end of pin. before you do make sure you remove pin from housing as not to melt housing.

Bleed brake resuvoir

You have the master cylinder off the car? The neatest way to do this is thread a brake line into each port of the master cylinder. The brake line will need to go around to the top and be submerged in the brake fluid of the reservoir. This way no matter what you do you cannot introduce air into the system. If you have it on a bench you can take a screwdriver and push in the plunger on the cylinder. If it is in the car simply press the brake pedal until no air bubbles are seen. If you don't want to do the brake line thing I told you about you can try putting one finger over each port. Push real easy on the pedal, letting a little fluid by as you press the pedal. Before the pedal is released make sure your finger is tight over the port so air will not be pulled back into the cylinder. Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.
