Hi,
Red light flashing shows that tv got internal problem for some reason.
Do you hear relay click when tv turns On? If yes that means deflection section is defective and protection circuit activates after sensing problem there and turns Off tv instantly to avoid further damage.
Turn Off tv and wait few seconds and turn tv On and observe green light, does green light turns Off same time? If yes, then power supply board got problem.
I'm not sure about your electronics knowledge and expertise, but service manual copy is necessary if you are attempting to repair tv. It is 2001 model so spare parts availability issue may arise.

Start out with replacing both of your STK ICs 392-110s use 120s or the 150s Mats Electronics has them 1-800-628-1118
They are big black ICs and will have the part number on them STK392-110.

You will need to replace both of the convergence chips--they are black about 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 tall--they will have either the STK-392-110 OR 150 number printed on them in white letters (they are black and mounted on heat sinks made of metal).

This can be a do it yourself repair if you have some skill--I am here to help if you need instructions etc.

Total parts cost will be under 30 dollars.

Your set contains three projection tubes (picture tubes) the typical life of these are about half that of a regular picture tube television, around 20,000 hours of operation.

As those tubes age the light emission from them slowly starts to decline. Other symptoms include colors being off slightly or a greenish screen. The symptom you are experiencing is called "contrast loss". That means the difference between bright and dark features in your picture tend to get closer together. This loss of resolution (also the picture might start to get fuzzier then it used to be) is a function of your projection unit wearing out. Since it costs nearly as much to replace a set of tubes (all three must be replaced at the same time) as to replace your set. I would suggest taking your time, read reviews and look for a new set.

good day.maybe theres a defect in the main board. you need a technical support from a qualified technician to fx your problem.

Remove the back lower cover first.........you should see a slide out board covering the light box.........slide that out and care fully reach up and around with your plastic long vacuum extention.......you can remove the top back cover,but be careful,because there is usually a mirror attatched to it,this will allow you to clean more thoroughly........be careful!

HI. Your symptoms are a very strong indication of digital convergence unit failure. This board regulates the RGB stream, via, digital convergence. This unit will need to be replaced, asap.

If it looks like the attached photos it is a convergence problem and typical.

I can tell you what is needed to repair this if you are a do it yourself person.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. it can be signs of getting old, but you can usually turn up the screen controls and get it brighter. it may need some cleaning. unplug the set and open the back and see if the 3 lenses are dusty. clean if necessary, and look up and see if the mirror is dirty (usually only smoke will soil the mirror) beyond cleaning, you will have to open the front and adjust while the set is running (dangerous to a novice) if you are comfortable working on live circuits, let me know I can talk you through the adjustment. as far as the remote issues, hopefully the buttons on the front panel are bad or locked up, you can unhook the wires going to them and hopefully the remote will stlil work, if not, you got bigger issues, time for professional service.

could be adjust ment required on the focus block a part of the high voltage circuitry.. ususlly located..if you take of front grill, than remove a small panel..has 3-6 small knobs on it. Bottom three usuallt focus, one for each of the three lamps. or could be convergence misaligned..maybe time for a convergence repair. Two large black STK chips on main board.

If not a do it yourself person shop around your area for someone who has done this repair before and do not accept "It has to go to the shop" as I have done hundreds of these in the customer's home and the repair takes about a hour or less to do.

Replace bulb and clean dust from all cooling fans including projector assembly.
