Sounds like a convergence failure, it was initially probably just loose connections but now it needs new parts, here is a tutorial I made:

If magic focus (which adjusts convergence at 18 points on the screen) will not correct it one of the two STK-392-150 CHIPS this set should use is bad.

Both chips need to be replaced at the same time; On EBAY total parts cost will be under 25 dollars.

Assuming that you have power (please check) are there any lights on the unit? If not then you should unplug it and remove the back. Check the fuse. Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

Searches in ur telephone yellow pages call all the big screen tvs shops around tell them u are 100% sure ur tv have a CONVERGENCE PROBLEMS,ask for total cost for parts and labors the tv covergence board repair price?The price awhile back to fix convergence board problems for the DLP TVS was $300-350 for parts and labors.U know basic's electronics and soldering and have all the tools.U can tries Websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy the convergence kit to repair it ur self.The convergence board require changing 2 STK convergence ICS some or all it resistors to solved the Convergence problems.

Replace Both of your STK ICs STK392-110s use 120s or 150s Mats Electronics has them 1-800-628-1118

RK46 1.5 OHM 1 WATT

Double check the numbers on the STK chips as most of these sets use STK-392-110 OR 392-150 CHIPS-----ONLY A FEW OTHER MODELS(MOST 43 INCH USE THE 120 CHIP.)

the lower rear board must be removed.
To remove the lower rear board, remove the 15 screws
To remove the Back Cover, remove the 18 screws all
around it.
Use extreme caution here, as the mirror is fragile and
when the last screw is removed, the back can fall down and damage the mirror. Use additional help and allow them to hold the back cover while removing the last screw.
After taking off the Back Cover, the cabinet light cavity will be exposed.

It is digital with the other inputs but not off air. To get digital off air you would need to buy a digital box to convert the signal to analog or separate audio/video or composite video. Cost for a box is about $40.00. Let me know if you need more help.

Error 4 is listed as an overflow in the convergence section.
To fix:
1. Check the placement of the sensor
2. perform an Adjustment check of th H/V size & centering
3. Conv. amp. gain check, check these resistors:
R041, part # 0790024R, RES.CHIP 1/16W 100 OHM
R046, part # AQ00164R, RES.CHIP 1/16W 75 OHM TAPE
R050, part # 0790059R, RES.CHIP 1/16W 47K OHM
R058, part # 0790054R, RES.CHIP 1/16W 18K OHM
R062, part # 0790047R, RES.CHIP 1/16W 5.6K OHM

these TV usually have something call magic focus. this sometimes will fix this problem. it might be located on the remote or on the from of the set. you might have to run it a few times. sometimes the lamps become unaligned and cause this problem...good luck

This usually Refers to some Burned or Blown IC's and Resistors. You need to Open the TV and get that Repaired.

Note - It is not easy to Work on these Models. A small mistake could cause a Damage to the Complete set.

Use sanyo ICs, also I think you have the wrong number for your tv. The best thing now would be to have a tech. repair the tv since it seems to be more than you can handle, you probably damaged the digital convergence board and if you continue to mess with it, will cause irreparable damage to it.( sorry but I will not be able to respond to any further questions)

u may have a bad convergence board , check for bad resistor next to the convergence ic and u will see that they are burn
