This sounds like a convergence circuit problem. Your set has two convergence IC chips (integrated circuit). One is for the red CRT, the other is for the blue CRT. This is a common issue with projection TVs. It is not a difficult repair if you have any experience with electronics and soldering. Both convergence ICs should be replaced at the same time. The part is IC (STK394-160E) and is available for around $36 or less. If you have a shop fix this they will likely charge $300-$400. This set with front grill removed has a tiny blue button on front edge of chassis on left side that will manually take set to convergence mode but you must have the Hitachi working remote to do adjustments---different buttons on the remote adjust and save the adjustments, I have the Hitachi book that shows all remotes they use and which buttons do what---if convergence is real bad most likely the two chips for convergence need to be replaced if Magic focus will not help.

The camera output would have to be composite---and if so go to one of the rear audio/video inputs: yellow (composite video) is likely all you would need unless the camera has audio as well (go to red or white on same input).

I have the same problem. I took the back cover off of the TV and blew all of the dust out and the TV started working again. But this only lasted 2 days. Now the TV is dark again.

thats the convergence ICs and associated resistors your model is the DP14G chassis and the Hitachi DP14G convergence kit is available from www.tvrepairworld.com and includes the two ICs associated resistors and the cd with repair instructions.

First, make sure that the mute is not on. If not, internal speakers must be check using the multimeter. Check its continuity, it should be 8 ohms and you will hear a crackling sound upon testing. Open voice coil of the speakers will not produce any sound output.

If you've confirmed that the speakers are not the issue, then it is caused by faultly sound output IC (IC01/TA8200). 29V must be check if present at pin 9. If yes, replaced IC01.
If you can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to ask for an assistance of a qualified TV technician.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence picture problems,it is dead.Tv set have any colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?Yes,than the tv convergence board it is dead to causes all these problems.Now the tv set convergence board must have to be repair like replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv set convergence board to solved the tv set convergence pictures promblems.The tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

You need to replace the Convergence ICs, they also control Startup. They are big Black ICs and will have the Part number on them STK392-110 use 120s.

Thats a common problem caused by failed convergence ICs and possibly their associated resistors may need replacement. Your model is the DP14G chassis you can get the DP14G convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the instructions included.

If picture is 3d the convergence chips (2) need to be replaced.

With back off (set unplugged) as you look from back on far right side is large metal heat sink with fins; the chips are on far right side of that---either STK-392-110 or the odd version uses -120 chips.

8 out of ten times just the two chips need to be replaced and set adjusted with the remote.

One version of this set has the chips on a REMOVABLE circuit board (6 wide and about 15 deep) and this is the easy version, the other requires entire chassis be pulled back and tilted up so bottom of board faces back of set.

Soldering is involved here and there are a few other things to look at but the chips on EBAY are less than 12 dollars for a pair.

pretty simple repair if you know how to solder.

Set uses (most likely) two of the STK392-110 convergence chips; both and any resistors around them bad need to be replaced.

Parts cost on EBAY under 20 dollars for the chips.

There are two versions of this set; with back off look to right side---4 inch wide board? If this version you remove the board, other version entire chassis has to be lifted up so bottom faces rear of set.

I will attach a photo of the chips in another set so you know what they look like, If you know how to solder it is a hour job.

Which version do you have? removable board on the right side as seen from back or not?

Resistors need to have one end of them unsoldered and lifted out of circuit to test with the ohms meter leaving them in will often give a false reading since they tend to measure circuit resistance when checked in circuit.

there are a couple areas of things that can cause this power supply or defelction circuit as well as convergence circuit you will have to trouble shoot it down to specific area to locate and est cost for repairs id ck the convergence circuit first
